open-case PSU for CO2

since I have some doubts about this device, I would ask some advice to more experienced: red and black wires should be the output of high voltage (to connect to the tube), to the upper side should be the input and ground... but what are the 6 connections to the lower side? Then in specifications was reported "..the Power is adjustable through resistive" In your opinion how do you adjust the voltage in output?

e-mail them and ask for the PDF that comes with that power supply. There is a pinout in there that explains everything.

IIRC some of the 6 pin connections are for TTL and a rheostat for current control. I believe voltage is self regulating similar to the diode drivers we use.

Looks like a flyback transformer. I didnt know they used them in laser PSUs.

The Red Cable Is HV + (out) , The Black cable Is Ground , The 3 connections (balck terminal Block ) would be the Mians In 120 or 240 depending On Psu Modle

This is bsed on my 60 Watt Power supply - Similar desing I think

On the 6 Pin connector there is , 5v+ , Ground , TTL High , Pump , Pump , In . ( not in order)

Pump and Pump are shorted ( interlock)

For power control mine uses a varible resister , Connected to 5v + , Ground and In , Then The 5v+ also connects to the TTL High to enable the power supply .

For simple on / off , 5V is connected to In and then TTL high to turn it on and off .

This is how my Power supply works , and its very similar to the one in the Pic ( 2 flybacks insted ) , But as mario said email them and see what they say , But im guessing it will be very close the what i said , but im not fully sure .

Ive used FBT's in HeNe's donkeys years ago, though over here thier called Line Output Transformers, and they were rock solid performers, much better than diode/cap ladder networks.

is the first thing that I did, but after three days, I had no answer :(

It physically resembles a flyback transformer, but that doesn't mean it is one. It's a high frequency HV transformer with a ferrite core.

I'm sorry for the "resurrection" of this old thread but now I have new interest for this PSU. If I don't want to use the pump (which was connected to another PSU), I need to know simply the plugs for the input (this should be 220-240V), the ground and the cables for the output (HV).
Red cable should be HV out +, black cable HV out -, FG the ground and AC the input.

AC does not have a positive and negative, it has an active and neutral. The + and - of AC switches at 50 or 60 times per second, so there is no polarity.

EVerything else you said should be right. Although you may need to connect one of the modulation pins to that 5V before it'll fire up, but without the manual its hard to tell.

May I ask where you got the PSU and how much, and what tube it can run? I need a CO2 power supply for a 40W CO2 I'm going to use for a laser cutter, though after shipping, an enclosed PSU is more than the tube itself!

I take mine from Coletech cnsigntech items - Get great deals on Business Industrial items on eBay.com! (150 USD) but I not suggest this seller, because they never respond to my mail with the request of the manual.
Similar PSU are available from Lightobjects 10W 20W 30W 35W 35Watt CO2 Laser Power Supply su eBay.it Lighting Lasers, Industrial Supply MRO, Business Industrial (165 USD) and I found this manual (generic) from the web-site.
BTW if you want I resell mine (100 USD) because I want to buy a PSU with close casing!
