G'day guys,

So I acquired an Argon laser.... yes another.

The laser head is a GLG3078 running on a 2111-65MLQYV PSU.

I have been looking for the pinout for the PSU DB25 interlock, with mixed results. Some sources say one thing, then another source contradicts the other.

I have found Pin 1 and 3 disables the interlock... from here on, I'm in the dark.

I have read that pin 13 and 2 needs to be shorted together, to put the laser in RUN mode... but other sources say 13, 2 and 4 needs to be shorted... again other sources say 13, 2, 4 and 7 need to be shorted. Which one is it!??! Uurgh!

Another question I have is, do I need a Pot input to get the laser to idle?

Lastly does anyone know the exact pinout and/or have a remote that will suit this PSU?

Thanks in advance!
-Adrian

For reference this is the pinout I gave:

Not sure where I got this from or if it's for this PSU, but pretty sure it is.

Yeah that looks right for most of the current psu units. I think mine is similar. I'll see if I have the manual for your supply.

Edit: JDSU argon ion laser manual

This should likely have what you need

You could try testing what some sources say with an ohmeter and tracing back the leads from umbilical to head. With umbilical connected.

So if it's 115VAC hot, clip a connector to tube anode, and put a pin on where the source says the 115VAC pin should be. Same for pot, monitor, and remote pins.

Ya follow? Then, through process of elimination, you should be able to find the right pins for the interlock. Or, if anything, find out which pinout is real.
