Hey guys,
I recently bought a HeNe laser and spare tube from Timelablasers.
Rob is a pleasure to deal with. No ne should ever doubt how well he packages things!
Although i think the Post office people damaged the second tube through all the excelent buble wrap :(. there is a small crack very minute where the glass meets the metal on the Uniphase tube, thus probably why it doesnt work, but im going to buy a seperate PSU for this tube to make sure its dead or not.

AAAhhhh the sweet glow of the HeNe.
Very nice little set-up there and Timelablasers is ALWAYS a good guy to deal with, and a wealth of information when it comes to these gas lasers!
Even now Rob is making me up a simple controller for my new Argon!

Have fun and good luck with the other tube. Hopefully it's just a power issue and not a cracked tube. Seems post is the same world wide, if you write "FRAGILE" on the box, they translate it into "FOOTBALL" and do everything they can to trash it.:gun:;)

Nice. I want to get an exposed tube like that some time. My GrNeNE is in a black tube so you can't see the plasma unless you look at the aperture from just the right angle then you can see a slight reddish glow from it. That and I'd like a 589 HeNe too but those are still ungodly expensive.

I would love a Green HeNe, and by the way its a 594.5 HeNe not 589

Got to love using the HeNe tube as lighting/decor. I made my father one for Christmas, very similar to the one above. Had to include a note...."DO NOT TOUCH!!!":D
The 532nm: is especially cool with the combination green and red on the wall.
