I'm looking for a HeNe laser, with a cool wavelenght (yellow to green). This will be my first gas laser, and that's why I'm looking for help. I've got a 100$ budget, including shipping. Some help for buying will be appreciated.

unless you get lucky on craiglist i think your going to have to up your budget a little more to like 300 ish for a decent one.

i could be wrong though

There's a green HeNe laser up auction on Ebay. It started at $40. Only a quarter of a mW.
I just checked it out again and the price is up to $130+ and less than 19 hours to go. That's about the best deal you'll get for any HeNe that isn't red.

Also look for a seller on ebay by the name of asset-recyclers(Dave). He usually has some good deals, and his lasers aren't that old. I got a red HeNe from him that's less than 6 months old. When it arrived, it looked brand new.

Yellow?? amost never on ebay- (Meridith has been running one for a long time over $300 I think. Green can be found rarely but if you want one of mine you better speak louder than $100. I got Red HeNes also. also two argons one single line and one multi complete plug and play{&put your eye out<(*v')>} any offers out there.?

It really depends on the deal you can find. Used argons can range from $100 to a few thousand. Expect to pay >$5000 for a new argon system.

And when I say "argons" I'm talking your basic small air cooled laser. They usually output 10-150mW depending on current and tube health.

Okay, lets say I'm looking for a 30mW used argon laser, where can I find that? I looked at Ebay, nothing intersting at the moment, neither at Craiglist. Is there anybody on the forum who sells those?

Not regularly. People like gooeygus, daguin, and heruursciences are really the only people who have more than one or two argons that I can think of. You just need to keep an eye out. They're not nearly as easy to find as HeNes are

It's an ALC60X , shouldn't be too hard to find replacements. The beam is probably also multimode ( these usually only do 100mW or so at 10A single mode, much more with multimode optics. ) Shoot me a PM and I'll put you in contact with someone who may be able to help you out  ;)
