It should certainly lase at 16A of tube current if the tube is in alignment.

I may not be able to get to 16A before the fuse blows, you happen to have a guess of the threshold current? Running 16A through old wirings at my parents house isn't preferred.

My lexel 95 lased at 10A of tube current, although it had unusually clean mirrors. An 85 tube should have a lower threshold though, so you should still be in the clear.
