What do you do with a lab style Argon laser besides look at the beam, and split the various spectral lines off with a prism or diffraction grating?

I'm not set up for a laser show, and can't holography be done easier with a diode (logistically, I mean, no water pump... cooling, huge power drain.) setup as long as it puts out a nice TEM 00 beam?

Oh... 3 hours, 10 minutes. :D

Wausau?!
Wonder what I would have to do to get my friend to pick it up & give it a nice home...
Most girls love Argon gas lasers right?

Why must all the good deals be in the US?

You guys are a lucky bunch when it comes to gas..
The most I find in these parts are oldschool HeNe table mounted
bar code scanners from the 90's

If you buy it from him, pop me a PM, I have one 75-1 tube doing 80 mW and one 75-3 that is gas and cathode intact that I do not have time or the PSU to test.

According to the Lexel factory tube book, keep that tube below 12 amps.
400 mW implies its a dash 3 and the current is turned up. I got 350 with a dash 3 at 13.5. so 400 is either excellent or a bit overdriven. The hard trip is set at 13.5 in those supplies.

That one does 35 % more power then a 110V aircooled, runs on less energy per watt, and has a stability that is out of this world.

I've yet to see a pointer that does 457 nm violet. You have not lived until you have mixed 633 with 457 or 477. You can stick a prism on the rear of that and tune it.

That is what you do with a non holo or non display argon, and with one of those 75s you can do doppler lidar measurements etc.

They live forever, and 488 is more of a blue to the human eye then 445, which many perceive as almost white.

If only I had a driver's license. :banghead:
It says he would transport it for $0.50 a mile, but that would be like $100 for me...

That may have been one that i repaired several years ago at the tech college. They had about 20 of them that they said were "dead", and I resurrected all but 4 of them using a BIG variac. Thing is they were 220V, not 110, looks like he got the big transformer with it. These lasers will not do holography very easily without adding a mode limiting filter, etalon and a tuning prism.

It went for $510-- twas fun to watch the bidding in the last few minutes: it stayed at $202.50 up until a few minutes before closing, then jumped to $222.50, where it stayed until the last few seconds, someone sniped it for $510.
