Default ALC60X Argon head temperature

does anyone know what the internal temperature of an ALC60X should be at a specified current, or otherwise have some direction on the temp range? i have an ACL60X that I haven't fired up. I have a 250cfm fan for it and a thermocouple temperature meter. i want to ensure i am operating it in the correct temp range. i couldn't find anything via search or in sam's laser faq. thanks!

Its not in the FAQ, and there are 250 cfm fans when unloaded, and 250 cfm fans into a heavy load. You want the later which is a Rotron Patriot or Major.

This has been edited, the temps are missing, we did measure them and the flow when we designed this:

I have the core temps in a manual some place, I'll try to find it, but you should try for a Patriot, you'll know the beast, it screams white noise like a Banshee when running and you cant stall it with your fingers, in fact you wont have fingertips left if you try.

650F comes to mind at 10A, surface temp touching the BeO at dead center in the riser, but I have a fuzzy memory of 1992.

Air needs to exit the out the hole in the top, the other way is a overtemp disaster.

I have a 60x with ML optics I need to prep to sell. I'll try to remember to measure the temps when I dig it out. I have a whole xerox sled for it though, so I just use the 'stock' fan.

Generally, the lower the temperature you can get, the better. Tube lifetime is directly proportional to temperature.
