Nice build. But why did you need a nosehair trimmer? O______________O Why does anyone need a nosehair trimmer?

So I don't look like this:

Thanks for the laugh it was a good one
Pretty cool building in an old hair trimmer, much better
than a candy tin  hard to do with all that
plastic and nothing to heatsink to. +1

Thanks FP!

My LPM is in the mail so I'll post back here after I test it. I also have a temperature probe for my DMM so when I get a chance I'll do some run times with temp readings.

Haha nice man. Awesomely creative.

Just make sure nobody actually sticks that up their nose.

IMO, the BEST thing about using that as a host is the CAP. Keep the optics clean when you're not using it.

I mean, cameras all have lens caps, why don't our lasers?

(Yes, I've seen threads about using flashlight switch boots and other things as caps, but this is nicely integrated and purpose built..)

I received my LPM yesterday. This little 5mW module, after being pot modded, is doing 134mW. I figured it would be doing more but oh well. Not bad for $5.

Since this build doesn't have any heatsink, other than the AixiZ module, I'm going to do some temperature tests when I get a chance.

I think I'm going to order another one of these modules for more testing. I wonder how much more I can get out of it.

Your avatar is awesome!!!

I don't know how many mA the driver is. I'm not even sure what type of driver it is, maybe a buck driver?

I think more testing is needed with these modules. Or even if someone buys one and takes the stock driver off and does some bench testing with the diode would be good. Unfortunately I'm not set up for bench testing. I'd like to see how much these diodes can take and for how long.

Yeah, it makes a better laser host than a nose hair trimmer. And it was one of the easiest builds I've ever done!!

Thanks!
