Resistor range of the pot on the flexdrive V5

The flexdrive hase a small pot on the pcb. Does anybody know the resistor range of this pot ?
I have an idea making a laser with a external pot directly connected on the existing spot of the old pot.
A laser with a variable output, low setting for pointing and high setting for burning .

Mike measures 830 Ohm and assumes that it is a 1K Ohm pot. Oh well I have a nice small 35k Ohm pot. I have to figured out what resistor in parallel I need to get it down to below 1K.
