What do you guys think? All parts look accessible. Trigger looks workable. Might need to modify the barrel for more mass to handle heat. I know it's hard to say from a picture and not be able to actually hold it to examine, but maybe someone sees something I'm overlooking or can give me a precaution or two. Thanks guys.

I really wasn't trying to make fun of anyone, but that thing looks like it weighs 20 pounds. I do love the idea of unique host though.

not a bad host, but the thermal conductivity is rather low. steel is not a great heatsinking material. you may need to use a lower powered diode.

The barrel is threaded in. I would try to get another barrel in that handle. Copper sounds good. It just seemed like a good base. Everything had threads and can be exposed for work. Really considering running with this. Really just the blue would stay.

Also, adding a switch to such a large trigger might be a bit hard but otherwise it might be a fun project!

If you think you can do it, just go with it. Use a low power module, you may have a short run time, but you will have he only one! The only way this hobby grows is with people that think out of the norm.

Low power module is NOT AN OPTION lol. I intend to fully replace the barrel with a copper one with much more mass (and style) :)

It can't look like a gun and spew out a trickle of light. And yeah I guess I made that obvious. Thanks for the encouragement guys. It just solidified my decision to try it out.

A high amp pressure switch under the preexisting trigger would be the way to go. Host looks rad I m sure one of our machinist can spruce you up a real nice threaded head. Lol could even add LED+ fiber optic cables where the hose goes to get a fun effect and show the laser is armed. With enough internal exposure anything can be a host, well... Not ANYTHING... And that's why I don't walk normally anymore

Haha. Yeah I'm been in the habit of picking things up and saying 'I wonder " looks like I have a fun project ahead. Glad to see you like the look. I don't think it looks like a garden hose nozzle like jh35 seems to think. Went through some effort to make fun. Nice guy
