Im in the process of building my DIY Dorcy Mini. I like the concept of putting in the heatsink for the added protection but im stuck on exactly what I need and where to get it from. If possible I would like to just be able to purchase something at the store that would fit my needs but If all else fails my last resort would be to make my own. So I just wanted to see if anyone knows somewhere or something that I can use as a heatsink. I was leaning towards using a shaft collar from the local hardware store (havent checked there yet). The shaft collar uses a hole on the side w/ an allen wrench to tighten whats placed in the hole. Is there any trade off to using the hold to fit the AixiZ module inside or does it HAVE to be press fitted. Also does anyone know the proper demensions for the heatsink w/ a AixiZ module placed in it. If someone could provide links to heatsink material they have used or are aware of I would REALLY appreciate it.

Thanks alot!

You could try stacking washers of the correct size, after boring them out to fit the module. Epoxxy the stuff together with Arctic Silver Heat transferring epoxy. Just my $0.02 phoenix77/rob

Darkhorse and Kenom both make heatsinks for the dorcy jr.

PM either one.

The darkhorse heatsinks do NOT need to be pressfitted.

take a block of aluminum and use a lathe to round it. then bore out a hole the size of your module. then drill a screw set hole in the side for holding the aixiz module. id reccomend waiting until you have it all ready to go in the flashlight, so that you get the measurements. good luck :D
