wow... if those are the right color of blue and you're sure they don't pass any red, you could probably sell those for a pretty penny around here.

Re: My first home made Laser Goggles

those look nice! You should test them carefully before relying on them, does any hint of red come through when you have them off and shine a red laser through?

Re: My first home made Laser Goggles

Hold on people, I think you're getting excited a little too soon.
Adgmeijin if you don't have a laser power meter, then send a pair to someone on the forum who does and see how much light they let through. If they're safe, then you can use them. Maybe even sell them. ;D
But you need to have them tested properly, remember you're messing with something that's supposed to protect your eyes and if it doesn't do its job you're going to regret ever using it. ;)

Re: My first home made Laser Goggles

Actually, even if they are not perfect, they should be enough for protection from reflections. The test with an LPM would be important, if you were shining the laser directly at your eye through them.

But if you put a white sheet of paper on one side, and shine the laser through them, and nothing or very little shows up, that's good enough for DIY glasses IMHO.

I was also thinking of making something like that. It probably wouldn't look as good, but should work just fine for reflections.

adgmeijin, did you test them like that?

BTW: What is that laser below them? Is it a DIY? Where did you get that enclosure? If you made it yourself, i have to say it looks amazing.

Re: My first home made Laser Goggles

surely it would pass some red, just not enough to blind. I mean whats the point of goggles if you can't see the dot at all?
I am going to see if i can get some scrap aqua or blue perspex from the sign supply place
