LED boost driver mod

Hi Im planning to mod this kind of LED boost driver to run BR LD, im trying to regulate the current using resistor, i hope this will work... :-/

looks like a voltage booster, you should be able to run a laser off it using a resistor, but no guarantees on stability longevity etc...
also you might be getting some serious spikes from the booster that an led could take, but will kill a laser, so throw some capacitors on to smooth it out.
if you have a CRO, test the output to see how clean it is.

wait, you said blueray... what voltage is this driver throwing out? and will it supply 30mA at that voltage?
i wouldn't recommend running a blueray off it, cos they are so damn sensitive (and expensive)

i have a driver just like that,it came from a 1aa light from dx it's getting 5v with out any resistors, i left it on for about 20 secounds and it started to sizle, so i think i wouldent try it on any thing.
