lab-style housing?

hey all,

i plan to build some lab-style lasermodules. one with two reds, one with two violets, one with one green. where to get decent casings for that? should be quite large (larger than DX' module) for putting two diodes plus cube, a tec, drivers and heatsinks in. metal, fins would be nice.
any idea?

for tuning a small module, collimator-aixiz-housing, or whole pointer to a "labby", these fat resistors are a good idea, by the way:

Wow that's pretty hefty for a lab style laser. Those are what I use in my YAGs. I think the largest I use is 100Kohm/100W resistor can for the bleed circuit on the capacitor bank.

oh, those are not *that* large (you were talking about the 25w resistor, not?):

http://octopart.com/info/Vishay/RH02512R00FE02
size-height: 13.9 mm
size-length: 49.2 mm
size-width: 27.4 mm

cheap (3$), fins, relatively nice and professional look, and already have a centered hole (with some useless resistor-stuff to remove)
widen that hole, and you should be able to fit your module in nicely, with parallel beam to the table.

Do you know how small these shunt resistors actually are? Drill a 12mm hole in it and it has no mechanical stability left anymore. Any edge will me <1mm. The ribs are also very short. For best heat sinking, look for the helicopter heatsinks in the general section of the forum.
