This evening i dissamble a sled and look around what is usable.
And i think about the magnets.  ::)

After small brainstorming i remember these cheap 1-5mw red module i bought some time ago.
And luckily i have hundreds "LR44" 1,5V button cell left, from another projekt.

Small test and 3 volt are ok for the modules.
I solder the lines direktly to the button cell.
The magnet hold both button cells together.

Here they are world first "Laser Throwie"  ;D

:exclamationHandle with care its still laser!!! :exclamation

Heh.. Clever.

A bit big for a throwie, and hardly a world's first...

Here's a little one I made... It has no lens, since I was basically using it as a really bright LED, though even if I put an aixiz head on it the magnets were powerful enough to hold it up.

I always thought one of the connotations of a "throwie" was "throw away" as much as throwing to stick on something. So this might be a bit expensive for a "throwie."

My throwie is not expensive. Laser module just cost about 2$

But another big con.
Battries are empty right now, after only one day.

Ok forgott my sunday afternoon invention. :(

Those batteries dont have much capacity to start with, perhaps a blink circuit would extend lifetime a bit.

Also, i wonder how good directly soldering wires onto them is - i think the temperature might degrade them.

rather than soldering to the battery, you could solder to a small bit of steel can ("tin can"); then use the tiny maggots to attach the steel to the battery.
Or you could just wrap with electrical tape. ;-)

sand the surface you want to solder.

Use much heat but short time, maybe solder on a "heatsink".
Normally its not ok to solder button cells, its just for fun.
Button cell dont like the heat it shorten there lifetime and wortscase it can exlode. ::)

take care please

Hey bro,

I'm new to this, and I want know the estimation about how long will the button cell will last if I use for red laser module 650nm 5mW? how many voltage usually you use for that kind of module?

:thanks:
