The heat sinking is a bit of a pain.  There is no "lip" to hold anything in place.

That one was a 405nm diode(PHR) in an AixiZ module, driven by a flexdrive powered by (IIRC) a single 17670.  The module and heat sink material was set into the host with thermal epoxy.

I agree. I think it is one of my coolest builds to date. I only made one of them.

yea i saw the flashlight on DX and i thought how cool it would be. is the flashlight sturdy?

Yes. As a flashlight it is very bright. The only weird thing is that it has a cheap compass as the button for the tail clicky. I replaced it with a rubber clicky cover when I built this.

my first laser is almost done but im using a Sportsman .5 Watt Aluminum LED Flashlight made by raovac (about 8bucks) i replaced the 3 triple a batterys with 2 3v energizer lithiums. still waiting for a module

p.s took 3 trys and 3 diodes to finaly make one work :p. hope to make a bluray one soon with the second one i got in the double pack
