Galvo System w 1064nm YAG Laser

Hi,

I'm building a little laser engraving system with a 1064nm YAG laser. The goal is to input an image and then convert that to an engraving in an aluminum plate. With the constraint of using a galvo system for control (as opposed to moving gantry), I'm having issues in how to proceed. My current system is a computer running LaserGRBL connected to an Arduino that has grbl firmware on it. The Arduino is connected to a low pass filter circuit to convert PWM output to a range that the galvo motor driver can accept. The motor driver itself takes in 3 inputs for X,Y and ground. However after setting up the system, I realized that grbl is only for (x,y) systems and doesn't support rotational systems yet. Does anyone know of any firmware that can be used for rotational galvos like the one that I have? Ideally it would have a frontend so that I wouldn't need to build one myself (I'm on a time crunch and don't know how). Also I'm constrained in that for the control system I can only use a rotational galvo and cannot switch to a gantry system. Any other tips as far as system setup for anything would be much appreciated.

I apologize if this is in the wrong place! I'm new to this forum.

Thanks!
