While looking at the reviews of the true 30 on DX, I came across a review that contained this:

Bottomline: The one i have cant hold full power more than 5 seconds with fresh Ni-Mh and 15 seconds with fresh Alkaline, but with rechargeable 3.0v CR123 it can hold the full as long as a dare to try it.
With RCR123 this became a really good product with stable output.

Now, I have no experience with CR type batteries at all. Would a CR123 fit inside the DX30 tube, and if so, how would you go about making that work, with the length of the battery and whatnot? I tried searching for info on this, but the search function doesn't seem to work, at the moment.

Maybe he did like i did with my Kai50, just wired the batteries directly to the poles, having them outside of the case?

After seeing these batteries, it looks like thats the only way he could have done it. If only there were more quality pointers that used AA batteries..or rechargeable lithiums.

Yes, the perfect pen style laser would be one that used aa batteries, i know the alpha from nova does but all those saftey features would get on my nerve.

I mean aa's arent much bigger than aaa's and they can sure hold a charge for longer.

..lazer... ;D ;D ;D
