I finished my diy bluray (from ps3 sled) not so long ago, and i had some problems while making it : soldered 3 times to the pins, broke the ground pin, now using aixiz case for the ground and it works but i first tried to solder directly to the diode and it took quite a lot of heat i was pretty sure it wouldn't work at all but it still works ! I'm feeding it 38ma and it looks way dimmer than i thought even on white fluorescent surfaces (dimmer than a 5mw red 650nm) and i also noticed some artifacts including a yellow rectangle (pic below), I read somewhere that diodes with yellow rectangles were brighter with more power and i was wondering if i should try pushing more power to the diode or just let it be if it won't change a thing... Any advice ? :\

pic attached is what i see...

Looks like its dead or very close to it :-[

Try feeding it a bit more current and see what happens, it might clear it up. Work slowly up to 50mA, stopping if it gets a lot brighter all the sudden. But if there's no substantial change even at 50mA, then you're probably SOL. But if theres no change even at 50, if its broken you might as well just crank it and see what happens :D

K might do that soon, or keep it like it is cause it still lights up glow in the dark stars in my room a bit xD I may keep it like this at least until i get my PHR-803T :p
