Hi,
i bought a bunch of odd tech stuff very cheap (i think) at an auction, among other things this litte cutie:

which is really great since i've been planning to build a stereolithography 3D printer! I've already bought a galvo and a DA converter for driving it is on its way from Analog Devices - now the only electronic component missing is a 405 nm laser diode. Now, this driver unit is pretty old, and i didn't get any documentation for it. Google isn't very helpful either. Does anyone here dare to guess what might be in there? There is what looks like a laser diode mounted in the thing, and when i turn it on and turn up the power the "laser on" led lights after a second and the power meter displays a value >0, but it must be out of the visible range cause i can't see it. I tried changing diode to one i de-soldered from an old CDROM but when i tried it the "laser on" led did not light, and the power meter stayed at 0. I have no way of verifying that that diode was even working, though. Anyway, you think this controller will be suitable for driving a 405 nm focusable (bluray?) diode, or am i completely out in the wild now?
