did u take it out of the dilda (OH..not dilda anymore!) to cut it?

if you'd used the belt sander, removing it should be compulsory :)

hey i never asked this, does the 200mw eat batteries as a 30mw greenie does?

Yes completely pulled the lens assy apart wouldn't want dust or a scratch on that high quality lens :)

Well, it does draw about 300 mA, so the batteries wont last all that long, probably 1 to 2 hours depending on the exact make.

As for all the filing, grinding and cutting.. i guess you should notice that a standard aixiz lens has the exact same tread and fits into this laser body nicely. If you use the one with the focus grip ring, its easy to ajust as well ;)

I like the way this looks... It probably also doesn't feel so odd taking it into public! lol

Oh, and you're going to want to change your avatar picture now ;)

Gonna try that :) but I only have the dx copy of Axis not sure if it's the same.

And the lenses in the Dilda are AR coated and my DX isn't.

Ok just tried it and I think it even looks better like this, I see no difference in the beam quality using the non coated lens from DX but to tell you the truth I don't know what to look for. I also popped out the retaining ring that holds the lens in the plastic housing as per Igor's suggestin looks better inside compared to the first one I did where i cut the pinhole out.
