We've been telling him to go F himself.. perhaps before bitching at the forum as a whole, you should read the thread a little more carefully.

Watching this/these idiot(s) make an ass out of himself/themselves is much more entertaining that just not posting.. at least to me.

Whoah, easy now. I'm not bitching at the whole forum. And I did read the thread. I guess I just took his numerous arrogant insults too personally, and I was wondering how long we'll keep feeding the troll.

Actually you were "bitching" at the whole forum. Notice I quoted you so you could see what came out of your fingers. And also, laser technology was still very new back in 1977, which is why we couldn't build authentic lightsabers until right now.

P.S. I seriously rated this thread five stars.

it's worth noting that OP didn't actually claim to make a "lightsaber" that could chop your arm off, just a 1 watt handheld purple, which really wouldn't be impossibly hard.... But yeah, people should stop being assholes to anyone besides OP... also LOL at the tags for this thread.

OMG. If you took that as "bitching at the whole forum" then you're a very sensitive guy. I'm also not blind, and I know what I typed, so mega-text isn't necessary. I merely was stating a suggestion (stop feeding the troll), as trolls usually want people to keep freaking out and type post after post in their thread.

My apologies if my post offended everyone (well, other than the OP). Maybe I'm in the wrong website. :thinking:

No their has just been a major drama overcome and it should start settling down soon, This forum is a great place to be lots of great members and even greater info. Just lots of high emotions still.

Actually I didn't take offense to that. Stuff like that don't bother me. I was merely pointing out something that you denied doing. No need to apologize, at least not to me anyway.

I have sat back quietly watching this because Loooong ago, I was tested at 146 IQ ! somewhere between genius and idiot... That's how IQ works.
About 3 years ago, my wife brought home an IQ test on a friday night after I had consumed numerous whiskeys -- half my brain tied behind my back! I beat her 136 with a solid 142!!!
777 only amuses me ---- LOL :)

I had no idea that simply suggesting that "we stop feeding the trolls" would be taken as "bitching at the whole forum." The two statements are certainly NOT the same, which is why I clarified my statement (not denied saying it). BUT now, having said that, I'm finished trying to tell you the difference between what I said and what you read. I'm moving on now.

I did enjoy this thread for its OP's original content. What irked me is how he insulted everyone's intelligence here by claiming how smart he is, and insinuating how stupid we are. Then stating how a certain IQ means a certain level of awesomeness. IQ, just like one's age, has nothing to do with maturity or intelligence levels. Maybe I'm just old and crotchety, but I can't stand when little punks like this troll on forums and insult people. I've seen it happen too often on too many forums.

But hey, it's all OK, because it's meaningless in the grand scheme of the universe.

in wannaburns thread "4 diodes better than 1. DIY Array on the cheap", he tries to aline all the beams together, if he manages to do that will it be like making a very powerful laser?

I mean if each outputs say, 200mw, and you combine 4, will you get 800mw?

What happens if you combine different color beams with such a set up?

With wannaburn's setup, you get several closely-spaced parallel beams instead of just one beam. But yes, any time you combine lasers, the output is cumulative depending on the number of lasers.

Combining red, green and blue lasers together is how a full-color laser projector can create anywhere from 7 colors to thousands of colors:

The highlighted statement above is the key. They do NOT become "one beam." They are just so close together (if done right) that we cannot "perceive" the separation.

So it just seems to be as one.
@electrofreak so combining different color lasers should give u something like the rgb pallet of a color in photoshop (if i understood correctly), something like what jayrob and a few others have done, but with more possibilities of colors (e.g combining the 7 colors with each other to mix more out)
