I've been looking for a compact  (pack card size or smaller) high capacity rechargable Li-ion or similar battery/battery pack supplying 3.7V or more...any suggestions?  The stuff on DX looks a bit dodgy for the most part - I'd like something high end....

Actually I few of the items on DX don't look too bad.... But I'm thinking a known brand battery pack for a high drain device like a digital camera or camcorder would be the way to go at this point. How does 6600maH at 7.2V sound ....

the only place to get cheap batteries is hobbycity.com thats were i get mine they are considerably cheaper than sparkfun
and if u want a high capacity 3.7 you could always modify a 3cell 2250 pack that would give 6750mah 3.7v and that will only cost around 20-25$

I can't find the one you're describing polop. The individual 2250 packs I could find seem to be about $20 each, but you'd need three of them, plus finding some with matched charging and discharging characteristics, to act like a single large battery.

here's the pack i have, the cells are quite thin, im not sure of the capacity though as it was pulled from some kind of ipod battery pack (unused though) it also features some neat protection circuity and a little battery status indicator (power + battery charge)
