Build a 10$ X Y scanner

I found this today, I myself started out doing much the same as he, pretty basic but at least he went to the effort of building basic DAC's.

This will never replace real scanners, but it's an interesting and fun way to experiment and learn. Some here might find it a good source of info and inspiration to have a go themselves.

Hehe.. kudos for the LPT port DAC - i remember those from the 90s when they were introduced as simple and cheap soundcards (covox etc). R/2R ladders are more precise than the solution presented above... but by lack of a printer port i can't even try that anymore
