I just want some simple information and advice now i sure you can under stand why i dont want to see a post of a spray can. that could be sent by a pm, so no one else has to see this stuff or all go onto laser chat and just have at it. much better do it there than here.
So please just remove delete any non helping post or just say hi to each other this cant go on in every thread. You guys have so much skills why waste it doing this is beyond me...

Yes, I'm getting tired of it too.
Getting started in the Arduino world is a great way to make some really great projects that would otherwise require huge amounts of circuitry.
I have a Basic Stamp II myself and dropped it like a rock once I began work with Arduinos - not only is the atmega328 much more powerful but the community support is great.

I have a stamp but i had a problem it took in its surroundings analyzed what to do then completely disregarded them and drove into walls.
I have been looking at spark fun and noticed i have seen something interesting.
It seems lcds take up tons of pins, but there are serial lcds they cost more but take up much less. can i still do alot with regular lcds or should i go and get the serial ones?

You need the serial backpack LCDs if you need more IO pins. Otherwise you're stuck with at least a 4 bit parallel data interface plus control pins

A standard LCD will take up only 6 pins.... not a ton...
I would stay with standard LCDs and just get an MCU with
a few more I/O pins... that would be a lot less expensive...

I'm pretty sure Things' tornado machine program was made in visual basic - as long as you can control the serial port you're in good shape
