There is a lot to read up there, and while I tried my best, my idea was burning in the back of my mind and I had to say it.
I personally, think it would look nice to instead of having a plastic pushbutton, if you just had twist on and had the back of the laser just be copper. I kind of hate plastic, but if it looks good it wouldn't be bad....would remove any and all moving parts if you did that though. Just trim the spring to be not connecting when partially unscrewed, and connecting when screwed all the way in.
