Don't worry. He's always been very responsive with us. You should tell him you're from LPF and ask for the 15% forum discount. The reason why he is not responding is that the Chinese government cut power to his factory until the 20th of September. He has a lot of problems to deal with. Have patience. :)

I don't think that he offers a 15% discount anymore.

I'll post the messages.

Hello, I'd like to know if I can purchase this laser with paypal? I also found this deal through Laserpointerforums.com. They said that mentioning them will get a 15% discount.
I will get you paid as soon as possible.

Peng has a thing with not noticing certain parts of what you say. It's very strange, and happens to me too. Say that you are part of the same forum as Mr. Dan and that he gave us a 15% discount.

Ok, I'll try that. He does seem like a friendly guy but there may be a slight language barrier.

That's nothing compared to other's I've encountered, his English is actually relatively understandable.

Obviously from being on the other side of the world there will be a noticeable language barrier. Sometimes when I order stock from overseas I have to ask them to explain what they mean before responding because I just don't understand them, it feels rude but there really isn't a way around it. I'm sure it's just as hard for them though.

Yeah, I ended up getting the discount but was never able to setup paypal. I just used a credit card instead of my debit.

That's good, but it's weird that paypal never worked. I had no trouble at all using paypal - I just sent the payment to his paypal address (xiaopeng@xplaser.com).

Not that it didn't work, I just didn't want to bother asking how he wanted me to go about again. Plus it costed $15 extra so I figured that I'd just use my CC.

I forgot to tell you thanks for saving me a few bucks. Thanks.

I just ordered this last night after giving my sanwu 303 away as a house warming present. Hopefully shipping is faster than fasttech. I will give my thoughts on it when/if I receive it.

Update: I recieved it today. The host is ok. The focus was set good. It is not directly adjustable but looks like it could be done. Now the bad part. The beam is not aligned with the host. It is a few degrees off. I am not satisfied with this purchase. I will not be gambling with XPL again. But the silver lining is that i can take this around with me and not worry if i burn it out or ruin it. The host will live again. So of you want just the host get the cheapest diode package and tear it apart. I kind of want this thing to crap out so i can tinker with it.

This is why I don't recommend the 310 often - it seems to have a recurring problem with off-center beams. The 311, while less flashy, is a much more robust host. What is the power like?

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company"

The host is fine. Its the diode/crystal module that is tweaked. I do not have a LPM so i cant tell you what its putting out. It is definitely brighter that my single mode 515nm. The sanwu 3x BE screws right on to the host.
I do like how the host comes apart. I will get some pics up next time i have it apart. For $100 i guess i cant really complain too much. Just dont expect high quality. For someone just getting in this hobby its a good place to start.

Oh, that's right! The beam expander has the same threading as standard star caps. So since it's threaded for star caps it works with the BE too. That's a nice surprise, thanks for sharing that.

I agree that XPL is more of a 'budget' company. It is good for people who want great power at low cost - often those who are just starting out with lasers.

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company"

I went ahead and bought an XPL-311 and we'll see how it does. I messages them and they said it could have problems with the power dropping after 30-60 Seconds just like the typical 301s. Hopefully I get a good one.

Re: XPL discussion - "the miracle company"

I was browsing through their 405nm diodes and was shocked to see the price. Am I missing a quantity cause it seems to be for only 1 diode 700mw around $100.

Awesome. I would like to know how the host comes apart when you get it

I only see their 700mw diode for $200?
XPL LD405T700 700mw 405nm laser diode-in Laser Pens from Computer & Office on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

I asked XPL about a 405 handheld capable of output of 1w or more and he said that to his knowledge there wasn't a diode out that can do that. I asked if he has used a BDR-209 and he said he hadn't heard of one. So idk maybe he's got a diode that's alot more robust than the 209 since it has a 5.6mm frame, and if it's "rated" at 700mw then it should easily be able to push to 1W or more. Super expensive for me otherwise I'd love to test one out.

Sta- got any other info on this 5.6mm 700mw 405 diode they have? It's gotta be a solid diode if their selling it for that price

I never asked questions about their 405nm diodes, because I assumed they just had an inferior supplier. However given that it is a 5.6mm diode it is definitely possible that it can be pushed further.

I will ask a few questions to him, and see what we get. Hopefully it is a single mode diode.
