WL pulsar... Defective!

I bought the WL pulsar125 a couple of weeks ago and i SO regret that i dealt with them. I only bought it because then i thought it was about the only hi power red on the market. When i first got it, i was so excited. but when i saw the quality, i was VERY dissappointed. it could hardly pop a balloon WITH a magnifying glass, had an irregular dot and a couple of days after i got it, the button stopped working :mad:. So I RMA:ed it and had to pay alot for the shipping to China. About a week later i got the replacement. it was very little better. it burns slightly, but seems cheaply made as well. I have heard that they don't even have installed a driver in it! And they sell it for250$! :-/
I have also heard that WL has an overall bad reputation here, and i definitley agree. How come that they still are on the market? they send out underpowered units that are cheaply made, and are extremely overpriced. I won't go there again...
By the way, which laser companies can anyone recommend to me?

WL is on the market because they have good advertising that appeals to all laser noobs. If you want a focusable red burner that is 5x cheaper and possibly better than the pulsar buy this from dx.

The best laser sellers are optotronics/laserglow/nova. Dragonlasers is ok also.

That won't work forever... I mean, when a person has a bad experience with WL, he starts to tell other people that they suck and that you shall not deal with them, and then they will loose customers.
I find it strange that everyone on LC has only good experience with them. Or is it just because they are afraid of being banned? I have heard that you can be banned from LC of you only say something bad about WL. That is the reason i joined this forum instead.

There you go, if you say something bad about WL you get banned and/or they delete the post/thread.
I recommend novalasers, the customer service is very good and the lasers is affordable, you get more than you paid for!

RMA that thing for a refund, and get the Focusable 200mW red from Dealextreme, and keep the extra $200. And yes, they will ban you if you say you got a bad product from them.

Yea, I have had my nova x-85 for a couple of months now, and it is just as god as when i got it. It also is overspec, 103,3mw average!

Does anyone here have the dealextreme 200mw red? is it any good? At 50$, i can get FIVE of those at DX for the price of the pulsar and they are also rated at 200mw. :)

The reason they are still in business even with the bad word is that wicked lasers has some die hard fans that don't like to hear the truth. They don't want to be told that the $1700 they payed for a spyder could have easily gotten them an rpl400 with more than double the power of a spyder and still have enough money to buy TONS of optics and safety glasses and some spare batteries. And they don't like to be embarrassed because they jumped the gun before doing their research. Because of this, they want everyone else to suffer to make themselves feel better about wasting so much money. The fact is that most people that buy lasers from them have all the lies jammed into their heads so that its almost impossible to change their mind. I always research a ton before i build or buy anything that costs over $50 and in doing so i have saved myself loads of time, money, and grief. Bottom line: Do your research ;)

There is also another odd tendency of WL fans. They insist on the superior quality of wicked's units. I have seen many posts on LC in which members state they are afraid to buy a CNI pen or a Crossfire style laser because they are afraid if is bad quality. Lol. They've got it backwards.

dx red would be best bang for bucks or you could also try andy_con's 130-170mw red or kenoms 275mw red, both focusable.

Techlasers is CNI not Wicked any more. I have no idea what you are talking about after the word techlasers. [smiley=tongue.gif]

Thing is, they ban the vast majority of people. That is, those who have NOT had a good experience.
You will be banned from LC if you say bad things about WL. :p
