^^Would very much look forward to it. It's always good to hear some objective experiences about a company from an actual customer. Sometimes I wonder how much of the "WL is terrible" is people just repeating what they've heard (but not actually tested) or outdated information. Companies change, maybe WL has improved in the last 2 years?

Looks like you found a way around the inflated prices though :D

I have heard that their customer service has somewhat improved, they lie less to their customers and do answer any "Tickets" with truthful answers instead of giving people the run-around...

Thing is...why even start lying in the first place

Yeah the lasers they sell now are always tested to be quite over spec. Peoepl say they do under, but not anymore.

Arctic is doing over 2500mW and the Evo 4 is doing 153mW.
Not bad, not bad at all.

The modes on the Arctic are awesome (dimming mode) and the evo 4 has some neat tricks up it's sleeve aswell :)

Quite happy with both of them :)

Looking good. But do you know if the 1W variant also uses the new model that's looks to be the same size as the Krypton, or is it just the 2W?

All artics ordered today come in this size ''krypton size''

It's the new model you will recieve.

Also it shipped with a Panasonic NCR 18650 cell ''wich is cool!''

Nice. I'm thinking about buying another 1W Arctic for when my current one dies.

You could do that,
It would be a big step-up from your old model :)

Should be doing a review any time soon now, perhaps comparing it to my old arctic. (that's not the old old version 0.01)

* The phosforce with the new arctic >2w is awesome :D

I honestly wanted to not buy from them anymore, but my Arctic is still doing fine, so I guess that giving them a chance every now and then isn't bad. for the price, i'll probably stick with the 1W model as sort of an archival unit that stays in the box until its predecessor stops working.

I would go for the 2W version ;)

You can dimm it to <1W and >2W :D

But that's just my opinion :)

The 1W version will be overspec aswell, so you're good with eather choise.

I just asked WL, and they said that only the 2W model has the added length, so it looks like I need to get some good beamshots to their page to trim the price down.

I had been thinking that 2W in a regular Arctic host would get kinda hot, so I was hoping that the added length would help. I guess not. If I do get the 2W version, i'm only using it at 1W for the most part.

It's fine :) and getting hot is good as the host is exchanging heat.
