Default UK companies for laser diodes?

Does anyone know of any UK companies that sell AixiZ modules and laser diodes on thier own?
I'd like to have a go at building a laser from scratch, using the diode driver seen here: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/fo...num=1185701612

I have an unwanted torch that will make an excellent host.

I am looking to make a burner (>150mW maybe), so the laser diode will have to be powerfull enough.

If there isn't a good UK company, can anyone recommend a good overseas company that ships to the UK.

Thank you very much.

I don't know of any UK suppliers (there's probably a seller on this site located in the UK though), but Daedal Lasers is top notch. Many people on here sell diodes too. Stonetek is good for Aixiz Modules and "16X" red laser diodes.

Default Re: UK companies for laser diodes?

If you find somewhere let me know

I always buy reds from SenKat (Stonetek)
Blu rays from whichever GB is on the go
NIR's from ebay
Modules and batteries from DX
If you want to buy a driver... 2 weeks delivery from the US.

Max lead time for any of these parts tends to be 2 weeks (although with christmas looming things may be a bit slower), while you are waiting you can get all the bits from your driver from ebay, 1 week delivery 1 week to build and test....just in time for the other parts to arrive.

I have never had any problems with deliveries from any of the above....you could spend 2 weeks looking for them elsewhere but is it worth it?
