I purchased a Firedragon 200mw 808nm pointer from thelaserfans.com.

I didn't get any payment confirmation or email so I contacted them a few times to see if they received my order. No reply.
After a few weeks it arrived.

I was very happy to try it out.
The batteries that came with it was dead.
No problem I put in new batteries.

I immediately noticed that it's housing has a loose cap on the end that is pushed out of the cylinder when it is screwed in. Because of this it doesn't work. If I hold the cap in then I can turn it on but it is impossible to use this way.

I emailed thelaserfans several times for two weeks. I even tried to contact them on this board.
No response.

Granted the pointer was very cheap but if it's broken it's worthless.
Despite their excellent prices I can not recommend them.

Hopefully they will contact me to resolve the problem.

You may need to use a camera usually a cheap one to help focus it if it is working because as stated above its infra red you cant see it very dangerous, the camera use your mobile phone if you can and look through it at the area the spot should be focusing on that should help you should be a glow if the laser is working in the general area , rather hard to focus if you cant see it, plan B is point it at one of your fingers and try focusing until your finger starts to sting 200mw isn't going to do much to your skin in a few seconds but could blind you in a split second ,keep safe never point near your eyes use IR googles to be sure your safe

Thanks guys I know 808nm is almost invisible, but it's not.

Besides like I said it works when I press the endcap in.
It's easy to see the laser when I get it to work.
Now it's mentioned it makes me wonder if they sent a lower frequency labelled as 808nm.
The one they sent me looks exactly like a skylaser, not the Firedragon in the photos

The thing is they do have cheap prices and I want a 1w+ focusable 808nm so I am tempted to order again but with no response it's not encouraging.
