Hello, dear professionals the laser-scientists!))

Has bought recently on DX laser True 50mw (green)
The good laser, but does not light a match, hardly burns a black package. In the daylight a beam it is absolutely not visible. In night it is visible a beam not badly....

BUT!
I want the laser at which the beam in night will be visible MEGA SUPER. As at Jedi's =)

... Here also I do not know, what laser to take, and In WHAT Internet shop. In DX, either in WL or in other...?

FRIENDS!
Please, help with a choice! Search used, but a little that has found.
I need the laser, which beam SUPER visible, and which will burn stuffs)
What and WHERE to take?
200 mw? 500 mw? Green\purple?
DX, WL, DL?

In advance I thank!

Thanks for attention.

PS And what you think about S3 Spyder Arctic for 197$? It will approach me?
PPS Im from Russia, forgive for mine mistake in the text))

First of all, you can never compete with the sun. It always win. Even the beam from 2 watts is hardly visible in sunlight. The night time is a different story. 100mw is clealy visible. 1 watt is SUPER bright.
However, if you have no experience with lasers don't buy a class 4. It can be dangerous if misused. If you want a visible beam stick with green as your eye is much more sensitive to that wavelengh and appears many more times brighter than equivalent lasers with the same power.
I say 200mw green @ 532nm would be perfect..

Оu, thanks!

And in what shop? DX, WL, DL?)
Or they about all identical?
Or laser in WL be much better?
The price is not important, the most important for me - quality.

What think?

I also recommend at least 100mW of green for burning and beam visibility:
100mW transformable green laser/adjustable [OLV6100] - $81.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
or 200mW:
www.rayfoss.com

These two sites will send you lasers that output the advertised power, they can be trusted.
But, other sites that will advertise 100mW-200mW (Deal Extreme, Focalprice), will only send you a 50mW laser. :(

If you are going to own a powerful green laser, you need to also own (and use) safety glasses to protect your eyes:
405nm,473nm,532nm laser safety goggles [OLGLG532] - $19.99 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products
or
Laser Glasses - UV to Green Lasers Protection 190-548nm :: Laser Safety :: Dragon Lasers
or
Multiple Wavelength <-- best option of the 3

The price is not important, the most important for me - quality.

What think?
Oh... Quality:

Avoid the Arctic. As blrock said, a Class IV laser is a very, very dangerous device.

The Arctic is full of troubles regarding producing them, apparetly, not one is even shipped, but a lot are ordered. Customers are getting impatient.

If you want apsolute highest quality of your lasers, a member here is called "scopeguy20", his real name is Glenn.

He organises , what we call, a "group buy".
It's where a lot of users buy a lot of lasers from one company, and we all get a discount ( less price) because of quantitiy (number) of lasers .

If you want, watch "Group Buys" Section of this forum, or ask Glenn (send him a PM) when will the next GB be.

If you want your laser right now - then , you should order from:
Green Laser,Laser Beam Optics,Laser Safety Glasses : Dragon Lasers
NOVAlasers Home
Laserglow Technologies
Optotronics Laser Products

Those are all highest quality lasers products, but expensive.

Try not to order from Wicked Lasers right now, they are overloaded.

Also, Dealextreme, focalprice, and others are really crappy quality and usually avoided.

EDIT- Also, regarding the power.
Depends on what you want to do with your laser - but generally, 100 mW of green (from those sites) will do anything, including lighning matches, popping ballons, burning dark objects, and have a lighsabre-looking beam at nightime.

For quality and a high visibility, I suggest a 125mw viper from Dragon Lasers (which is basically a CNI retail outlet). The actual output will be more like 150-175 mw and the quality is top class. It will also burn a bit, though not as good as a high power 405 (see below).

For burning, you would be better off with a custom made focusable 405 nm unit from one of the builders on the forum such as Daguin. Expect to pay US$ 200-US$ 300 for a top class build with an output power of ~ 400mw.

And don't forget safety goggles.

I wouldn't start with a 445. Not as bright as a green and doesn't burn as well as a 405.

It's sitting in Canadian customs waiting to be relesed... I hope to submit a review by next weekend. :can:

FYI many of the original links on the top 2 posts are broken.

I just started researching the subject (which lead me here), so I can't offer any help by submitting a new link to a new product. Hopefully someone smarter than me can take care of it.
