Lead time has been averaging 2 weeks and once the laser is in the postal system it should arrive in 11-14 days if customs doesn't drag their feet. Avg wait time from sci fi seems to be around 30 days. Unless you ordered during one of Israels plethora of holidays. You can ask Eitan to tell you when the laser has shipped. Israels postal service isnt very efficient and the tracking information is often unreliable.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it. I wasn't sure how long the lead time would be, my extra batteries just came today and my safety glasses are all shined up and ready to go. Lol

Thought I'd post in here since I'm in a similar spot. I ordered a 6-7W 445nm on October 21st (with the two package shipping) and am in that tracking number limbo right now. literally waiting on pins and needles!

Thanks for letting me know, I was starting to get a little worried, I still ha ent heard much on mine, I emailed him about a week ago and he said mine was done and ready to ship but nothing since then, let me know if you get any updated info on your order so I can check for updates on mine,

I bought one on 27 Nov 2015. He said it was already built and ready to go. He responded with confirmation of payment within an hour or two of payment. I then asked about tracking numbers and ship dates but alas, no responses.

I know it's only been a few days so I'll ask here. Does Sci Fi use tracking numbers?

He does use Tracking numbers, and it looks like mine was sent to California instead of Maine... ugh... https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction?qtc_tLabels1=Lx005472801IL

Edit: I hate to assume, but if I were, I would think this is someone else's Tracking number by either a mistake, which I hope, or to stop me from asking him what's going on with the delay of the laser. The first Tracking number he gave me that never worked for 7 days is now working, and being sent to the U.S. from the same post office he uses. He is obviously very busy and hopefully it was just a mistake.

We're hearing this song quite often with Sci-fi. Seems like the avg wait people are reporting is now between 6-8 weeks or more. I waited 2 months to the day for mine.
If lead time is over a month then Eitan you need to start telling your customers this. There is now a stack of these threads on SCi-fi and unordinary long waits, and excuse after excuse. This clearly isn't just a few isolated incidents, its seems to be the majority we are hearing about for a while now.

Right, me personally, I don't mind waiting a month or two for quality. BUT what I do HATE is being lied to and deceived. I'm not saying he did, since I don't have any proof these could all be mere coincidences.

But he said he sent it and gave me a tracking number 3 days later that the P.O. gave him on that day. He said it would work in 48 hours. It didn't work for 7 days, he said the P.O. messed up and gave him a different tracking number to give me, which I followed via text alerts and checking everyday before and after work, this one is now being delivered to someone out to California.

I don't know how the mail system works, so possibly they do change tracking numbers a week after dropping off the package? I thought they sent it out that day or the day after with one tracking number. So I cannot say for sure if he's been lying OR just a series of bad luck for me. Someone whom knows the postal system better than me may be able to elaborate on this. If he said, I will send out your laser in 6 weeks, I would have said okay, thanks! But IF he is lying, IMO that's terrible customer support. So far he's been nothing but kind with me so I can't complain other than the series of shipping incidences and sometimes long reply times. :) And by all the reviews on his products no one can blame me for being very anxious and excited to receive a piece of his art. :D

I also ordered a 700mw green from SciFi around June and it took about 1 1/2 months to get in. he sent me a tracking after 3 weeks and emailed me shortly after saying he gave me the wrong one. That new tracking number took about 1 week to update. I'm feeling like Israel's postal service really lags behind during holidays since it's taking a long long time for my current tracking number to update. Hoping everyone gets theirs before Christmas at the least!

I agree with what everyone has said. Part of the reason I went with him is the website it says 5-10 days to build and then shipping .I figured around a month. I went ahead and paid the extra $17.00 for Ecopost shipping so I could get it a little sooner. Like everyone has said, I don't mind to wait for quality, But Let me know what's going on with my order. The last time I emailed him wa about 4 or 5 days ago and he said my laser was done and ready to be shipped, I checked with him today and he said he will update tonight.

Eitan is a great guy and makes a damn good laser but I'm pretty skeptical about these wrong tracking numbers given by the postal service. Honestly I'm not trying to get on the mans case, I'm actually trying to help him not loose a lot of buisness. LPF has been a huge supporter of Sci Fi with loads of recommendations from the members here to people looking for suggestions.
It's pretty obvious why this is happening. The fear of loosing orders due to stated accurate wait time being a month on avg. To me this is short term thinking. As a buisness owner I would rather loose a few orders than have a lot of frustrated clients and no longer receive referrals from LPF. That will cost him more in the long run.

It seems there's two solutions to keep customers happy. Either he gets some help to speed up the process and have less problems with organization and shipping, or be upfront on the wait time. If all of the people were told ahead of time that it would be 4-6 weeks, I doubt any of these threads would have been made. But when your told 2-3 weeks, of coarse there is going to be concerns.

I'd hate to see a good company and person that has been a staple seller here end up in a bad situation. Eitan, your either going to loose a few orders to being upfront about lead time, or you can loose a lot of future orders from unhappy customers making threads like these. If the problem really is your postal service then you should consider switching to fed ex or DHL. I'm not sure why you would continue to use Israles post if they are actually causing you this many problems. But in the end it's your company and ultimately you are responsible for getting people their lasers in the time frame YOU state. So either figure something else out or be prepared to see more threads like this and sadly receive less referrals.

This is good info, thanks everyone. :thanks:

For mine, he said it was already built, ready to ship. Are the ~6-8 week wait times just due to shipping or does it include build/test?

6-8 week wait times from what I've seen are for the whole process of preparing, shipping to arrival. wish there was a way of figuring out when the slow shipping months were so we could order around it. some people on this site have said they got theirs prepared and delivered within 2-3 weeks :(

Mine order was placed October 31st and I got it around New Years. Like I said it was exactly 2 months. I ordered at the worst time possible as far as Israels holidays. Part of the problem I was told was Eitan was waiting for parts which took forever but once shipped it came in less than 2 weeks. I'd say everyone ordering now expect to wait a while due to holidays in that country.

I ordered 2 S1 lenses from an ebay listing on Sept 6th 2015 and I didn't even realize it was SCIFI's advert until I examined the add 9 weeks later, I take screen shots of everything, anyway they were 9 dollars each with free shipping so I said what the heck, let's give em a try.

Well a month later I got an email saying they had shipped, at 2 months after ordering I still had not received them and clicked the ebay tab for wheres my item and sent a request for seller to reply, I still had not realized this was SCIFI until after I sent a message at 9 weeks asking where are my items?

Anyway I got a refund after 9 weeks and I never received any S1 lenses.

I know ups beats the heck out of every package I get and I buy a lot of stuff, but I digress.
Yes sometimes things get put in my neighbors box but we always exchange each others mixed up mail.

I know my usual mailman by name and he is a good guy, his fill in people are the ones who mix things up and that's rare.

Maybe Israeli shipping is messed up, maybe scifi has helpers and gives them an order expecting it to be done, I don't know and I'm not making any statements other than it took a month to get an " it's been sent email " and a refund 9 weeks later for items I never received.

This is just my real life experience, many things that are not scifi's fault could have happened, this is just my report from my real life experience.
I don't want to be the bad guy, but if we are to look out for each other I must at least be honest and that's all this is, just my honest report of my experience.

Also I sent him a PM November 25th asking how much for an empty Arcane host, he messaged me right back telling me they were the best in the industry and would check on a price for me, I have not heard back 9 days later now, but........I had to wonder, how could someone who builds these lasers not know what his parts cost?
A person might think he has someone else building them, that might explain how ....I forget the name of the last one I read, but the guy ordered a green and a blue and got just 1 that didn't work in 2 pieces many weeks later, that would explain how SciFi had the best intentions yet that happened.
