Scam Alert for Companies and Builders

I thought it was appropriate to post this here, as this warning is for anyone building and/or selling lasers and laser equipment. As some of you may know, I am a gaming and tech YouTuber, who often does video reviews of lasers. Because of the popularity some of my laser reviews have received, laser companies like Sanwu and Laserpointerstore will send review units for me to test and upload to my channel. The laser company "Laserpoints.com" recently contacted me to alert me of somebody emailing them, claiming to be me, to try to obtain free review units. They provided the following info:

zackerynichol@gmail.com

He even went as far as creating fake screenshots of his YouTube dashboard (yet surprisingly decided to communicate with his personal email account). I attached screenshots below. I figured it was important to get this info out there, because while his scam failed this time, I'm sure he'll try it again and impersonate other individuals in the hobby.

btw BOLO for an official looking msg from Microsoft about some problem they will fix for me IF I can call an 888 number---googled it--bogus--do NOT call them.

I've been approached by that fake Microsoft scam before. They got in the habit of calling me every month for awhile. Finally they have left me alone.

called you?? dayham-- that's bold.. I cannot understand how a big outfit like Microsoft does not go after these creeps--BUT then again--some crooks were using a fake thing saying they were the FBI!!! wow! I always thought that the FBI could never be messed with much..

Yeah, I called Microsoft and told them about it. I made the mistake of calling a line once and that's how they got my number. It was about five years ago and I had never heard of this scam before. So, I kind of brought it on myself.

What a jerk. BTW I found this thread because I'm trying to find reviews on the website that he tried to scam, laserpoints.com. Do they look legit? The fact that they'd take the time to alert the OP to someone trying to use his identity speaks well for them but I want to be sure. I can't find any information on them.

I didn’t find much info on them either. They contacted me about doing a review, but I’ve been a bit busy with other projects, and a lot of their units didn’t interest me much as they lacked originality. The site seemed a lot like all the other Chinese laser 303 wholesalers. At a brief glance, their products look to have very overstated power outputs, and high prices for items that go for 1/6 the price on eBay. I may be wrong, as I haven’t tried anything from them! But that’s just what it looked like to me
