Got my 50mw green FLX, and charged the battery for about 2 hrs, the light was red the whole time.

Put the battery in, turned the key to On, opened the shutter and...the led comes on, but the laser doesn't. Whats up?

Have you contacted rayfoss yet?

Did you check the voltage of the battery to make sure it's in the right range?

Well the battery shipped with the laser, so I just assumed it was charge until the light changed colors and put it in.

what do you mean?

Well, there are two things I would check:

1). Use a DMM to check the voltage of the battery to make sure it's good. I've not heard of rayfoss shipping bad batteries, but other vendors have. Not likely, but possible.

2). Are you sure that you put the battery in correctly? Most greens are case-positive, so the battery goes in negative end first. Check the documentation to be sure.

If neither of those are the issue, then I would contact rayfoss directly to see what they say.

Rayfoss shipped me a battery and charger, its still going good.

Get a camera and point it a white piece of paper, while recording chine the laser at it.
If you after reviewing the video see a pink dot on the paper then it looks like the crystals are mis-aligned and cannot be fixed. It could be other things aswell.

Contact fiona and she will get to you in about 12 hours.

I would also use the multimeter and check the tail cap for conductivity

Although if the LED came on, it would seem to me that the tailcap isn't the problem...
