(I am very busy and don't have a lot of times a day to check on the forum, sorry if this has already been mentioned) I just went to http://www.optotronics.com and saw that there is a sale on RPL models from 165-260 mW. just in case someone hasn't seen it ;D

Not only that but it looks like the other prices have dropped recently too! Still a bit rich for my blood right now though. :'(

Nice price drop. Perhaps opto should try offering a cheap 5mW blue (*hint hint* Jack/Viasho) - no frills, but priced low enough to make portable 473nm a bit more accessible to the hobbyist.

Hi Carter,
Good idea, I'll talk with them and see what we can come up with.

To the Forum:
Yes, do in great part by our new relationship with Viasho, we have just recently reduced prices across our entire line of portable lasers, many price changes were made this morning along with the introduction of the RPL-375. More products are about to be listed as well.

One of them will be a 30mW green pen pointer (marianne has a sample of this laser).
I had been hesitant to sell them as they do also emit a small amount of IR (~3mW).
This will also be disclosed in the item description. However I really think they are very pointers, nice and bright and great for star pointing. Of the hand full I got in for evaluation, about half actually output 50-60mW of 532nm and the lowest was 35mW of 532nm, so the ~3mW of IR is not counted toward the 532nm power. I think they will be well received. They will be in short supply for the next two weeks as I don't have but 6 in stock right now, but more are on the way.

Thanks
Jack
