I HIGHLY doubt they have a clue... Idk if it was intentional or just due to poor judgement....

It was definitely intentional. The graphic artist had purchased from dinodirect in the past and had to wait 3 months to get their order.

And, when they finally did get it, it wasn't as described and it was broken. :D

Just joking of course, but could be. :)

^ yes ..... more precisely, if i recall correctly, Hitler adopted it from the Thule Society of Von List ..... and he steal it from the Ordo Novi Templii (new Templars order) founded around 1900 from a monk named Lanz (or Lantz ?) in Austria, a sort of arian-christian order .....

As far as i know (but i'm not an expert in this), svastica signs was found also in the Babylonese age, and someone say that is also more old ..... any paleohistoric, around here ?

Nothing to do with the knight templar... please go back to page 1. The Nazi party took the symbol from Tibet in about mid 1930s. This is WELL documented. You correct that the symbol has ancient origins globally. ...

^ NEW Templars, not original ones ..... it was a pseudo religious order founded around 1900 from a "former monk", that was claiming that "arian christians" had to fight against any "non arian" evil ones (at least, in their own diseased brains :p ..... what is "arian" in practic ? ..... are centuries that in all the world does not exist any single "pure blood" person, LOL)

EDIT: found something about the founder, incomplete but still better than nothing

I think it was neither accidental nor intentionally offensive. These lasers are produced in china, and they probably just figured out it would be nice to project a common symbol for good luck. Perhaps they should have investigated the meaning in the west, but then again, i dont think they do that for every single icon. Some people might be offended by a star too, and perhaps projecting a catholic cross onto a protestant church isnt a very good idea either.

The important thing with symbols is that you always need to see them in context. The swatsika in asian context is only a positive symbol.

Speaking of symbols: We have a very curious one in the west: a heart with an arrow through it, as for the cupid mythology. You can only imagine what someone would expect to be in a package carrying that symbol if he is not familiar with the western context behind it...

Another good symbol that has been twisted is the Pentagram. Pentagram is a sacred symbol which is a Druid icon representing protection and in Wikka, the 4 elements and th 4 seasons. Christians... anyways... you know the rest of the story... 16th CE right up until the 18th CE actively hunted anyone they didn't like (witches) and burnt them at the stake/ beheaded them or stoned them to death (with rocks, not our BC Bud). Reminds me of something I might hear about in Pakistan or Afganistan.

Well, perhaps there's a lot of symbols, that the common tradition don't know right (or, at least, that the actual society don't consider with the original meanings, and that can genetate confusion and mistakes ..... five-points-star, as example, that is the original symbol of the man, for Pitagora (and also used from Leonardo) ..... the same six-points-star (hexalpha, also known as "Solomon Seal", when there's a tetragrammaton written inside), that almost all just considerate the symbol of Sionists (hebraism), but is much older than this, and have also Islamic references ..... and so on .....

Maybe we have to collect all the data and compile an "encyclopedia of hexoteric symbols and their original meanings" ? ..... it can become a very huge work :p :D

I think that could be a very intersting idea.. not only the original context, but also everything else they have been used for in history. I'm sure there more obscure symbols that have a rich history few people know anything about.

Interesting side-thought: I wonder when the first 'laser warning' logo was ever written down, as in 1 single ray ending up in a splash somewhere. Perhaps something very similar could be find in ancient egyptian works representing a beam of sunlight reflecting of something inside a temple.

Gave the link to a Jewish friend, just to explode her brain. She's very smart, so she'll remember the whole "Thousands of years old Asian/Indian/American Indian" connections etc. when I remind her. But the WTF-ery will be strong at first. :p

Even the U.S. Army National Guard had a division who's unit patch was a red field with a gold swastika on it, borrowed from Native American iconography. They dropped it in '39-'40 or thereabouts due to the now overpowering Nazi connection.

Can the OP please change title of this thread, as it obviously have nothing to do with Nazism? Besides, to the OP again, please liberate yourself. Even if it was a Nazi sign, wouldn't it be up to the buyer to select and/or select something else to purchase?

PayPal on the other hand accept donation to the KKK. Perhaps you should quit your paypal account in the name of all good :) They have also banned donations to Wikileaks with the reason for misconduct and illegal activity without any conviction anywhere [Read: pressured from the US govt since the last leak].

Meh. I feel that I'm going too much OT....

first things first the Swastica was stolen by hitler it has nothing to do with Nazism,
it is an probadly the holiest sign for hinduism and buddism.

bet still in western countries people link the sign with the second world war.

so hitler screwed the sign.

it is supposed to by an sign of wealthness and luck.

and has nothing to do with killing jewish poeple.

You assume correctly... my ancestors were primarily jewish

Mine were Nazis. Kind of makes sense now.

My aunt, and 2 uncles belonged to the Nazi party. One of my uncles was an engineer on the Autobahn, and the other was the architect who designed the Kehlsteinhaus. My mom was a part of the Hitler youth, but she said it was mandatory for all kids. My mom was as far away from a Nazi as you could get. In fact she was more American than most Americans I know.
