I am buying a few lasers from O-Like. I would just like to ask your input on what type of shipping I should get to the US and how long it would take to arrive with said shipping

Thanks in advance

I was just wondering the same thing?
For slipping past the customs office. Is regular post, EMS or DHL safer?

I have gotten a few pointers from o-like.
I think the safest method is regular post, and for secondary "insurance", have the batteries shipped separately for a few extra bucks.
It will take about 2 days to leave the country from when you order, and depending on where you live around the world, another 6-14 days after that.
I live on the west coast of the U.S. and consistently, I get shipments from China exactly 6 days from "Foreign International Dispatch, HONG KONG AIR MAIL CENTRE, HONG KONG". I think it may take a few more days to get to the Midwest or East Coast, and possibly more (or less) time to Europe.

I live in chicago and it took a little over 2 weeks to get my dilda (regular post). I ordered a green module on the 10th with ems shipping and it just cleared customs today so maybe i will get it tomorrow or wednesday? all shipments have to go through customs either way so none are really safer. Olike is great though, my dilda was labeled "flashlight as gift" and everything inside the package was wrapped individually in bubble wrap (very tightly i might ad) I doubt customs would tear through all that to inspect a "flashlight"

K Abolfazl and I are on the west Coast to, literally the coast :). SO really no inland transportation is really needed, We'll probably get the 6 day time like you do.

THanks guys! this Forum is amazing

I just bought a green module and lab style laser from o-like, the module came pretty quickly (about 6 - 8 days) with the cheapest shipping (registered I think it was, aka Hong Kong Post). The labbie took about 14 days.

thanks,
kendall

shipping depends on the (shipping agents of an specific carrier) sometimes dhl can get slow if the agent that susie sends the package with is lazy...just like now, i ordered from susie a laser module and a 50mw laser, it was already given to the shipping agent (monday Asian Time) right now tuesday 10:30pm +GMT 8 still the tracking number is not recognized by DHL website....

i heard that o-like site is just a retailing site of greenlaserpointer.org , and o-like's customer support are always speechless when i asked them about their big beam divergence. they probably only sell the used or returned lasers of other companies for new products. really cheaper but not guaranteed. the 600mw green model looks no much different from that of greenlaserpointer.org but a buddy who is a buyer of both site said they'r vastly difference; even the peak power of o-like model is much lower than the average power of greenlaserpointer.org. I didnot test it myself; just hope you watch out.
anyone has the similar experience?

On this Forum... O-Like.com offers us In-Spec (if not Over-Spec) lasers at a great
price...
I know... Ive purchased about 7 so far from O-Like.com
Oh... BTW... Susie at O-Like.com supplies a great Customer Service for anyone
that purchased a product from O-Like.com.

If you want to save some Bucks....and from experience... I'd buy from O-Like.com
But that's just my opinion.....

I don't think so.
There are plenty of things for sale at o-like that greenlaserpointer.org doesn't sell. I don't think they have anything to do with one another.
To me, it looks like glp.org is just reselling cheap chinese lasers for more than they are worth:
50mW focusable bluray, $159:
50mW Violet Blue Lasers Only $159.99 - Waterman Series - Greenlaserpointer.org
same exact laser at rayfoss, $69:
Rayfoss
new dilda for $100:
200mW Red Laser Pen Only $99.99 - Torch-Focusable Matchfirer Series - Greenlaserpointer.org
exact same new dilda at o-like for $48:
New style 180~200mW red laser focusable£>5~200mw Red laser pointer£>Laser&lighting products£>www.0-like.com
400mW green for $700-$900:
400mW Green Laser Pointer : Powerful Red,Blue and Green Laser Pointer, 5mw,50mw,100mw,150mw,200mw,250mw,300mw,350mw,400mw,450mw,500mw,550mw,600mw,650mw,700mw
same laser at o-like for $540:
350~400mW Handheld green laser IR Filtered£>250~500mw Portable green laser£>Laser&lighting products£>www.0-like.com

Looks like greenlaserpointer.org is just a mark-up site, that you would end up paying twice as much for the same product. :banghead:

Hello, I am new to this forum.
I just received my first so-called hi-power red laser pointer today from O-like dot com.
I fully charged the batteries and while the red dot is very bright, there seems to be NO heat whatsoever.
I can NOT light a match and when I focus the small red dot onto my fingertip or onto the palm of my hand, I feel NOTHING!
Am I doing something wrong or could my particular laser pointer be defective?

My specific product is the 180~200mW Red laser/ adjustable focus Product code: OLRLA200 with these features:
*
Wavelength:650+/-5nm
*
180~200mW Output power
Powered by 2 x 3V CR2(15270) batteries
*
Focusable lens
*
Instantly burn up a match from distance
*
Pops balloons
*
Diemension: Dia18mm * 130mm

Any feedback is highly appreciated. Thank You!

allemander Try this.
Do you have any teflon tape you can put on the Lens part of the thred? (watch for the spring)

Anyway keeping in mind that it's a fine adjustment needed to get the beam/dot just right
To burn, you need it focused just right.
There is a chance that you might have receved a "dilda" that is bad, but it's rare, but like any laser there is always that chance.

If you have glasses (and you need them for 650Nm (red) at this power) it does help to get the "Dot" right for burning. and the best price i seen is -> http://www.dragonlasers.com/catalog/Laser-Glasses-Red-laser-beam-protection-600-700nm-p-16422.html

Burn somethang black, like tape, or the box it came in ;)

Most all of us on LPF have this laser (most of us have more the 1) so try this first and take you'r time.
keep in mind safty first, just because it doesnt "burn down the house" doesnt mean it's a toy.
And doin't worry, there are a lot of people that will help you IF <-- (key word) you do just a bit more homework first.---- > type ' dilda review ' in the search button above.
If that does not help ask > lasersbee < for a link to his review, it will answer alot. (only ask him after you tryed first).
