Well I called the Post Office today after all of this happened (http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1219103642)
and it turns out they were open so I went down there and picked up my new X-150. I got it home and opened it along with a new pack of batteries and set her up. Well it was the first time I had even seen a green laser and it was quite impressive. The beam was clearly visible and the dot was way brighter than I expected. It popped balloons and smoked the table I pointed it at and I turned out the light and it was even cooler then. I was just about to put it away, then it died. Yeah, It rapidly went dim and then it wouldn't turn on at all.  So I thought maybe the batteries were bad or something so I took them out and switched them out for new ones. Same thing. It wouldn't turn on and my dad is going to kill me even though I can RMA it. The paper that was in it actually said it Peaked at 179mw and the average was 168.4mw. Needless to say I am kind of disappointed. *sigh* Just my luck :-/

Sorry for it breaking, but if you ran it too long the heat may have killed it :-/

No, I actually only kept it on for the most about 10 seconds and that was to try and light a match but it was to bright so I turned it off.

I haven't dropped it or anything I had just taken it out the box and as far as safety goggles go I don't have any right now but I was going to order some after I had received my laser.

Well It seems its the button and not the actual diode. I pressed it at a different angle and now it works until I let the pressure off a little and then it does the same thing. Blah I guess ill still send it back. I already sent the RMA in so I might should call them and clear it up. It seems that the less pressure I put on the less bright it is. Weird

Yea, I have the same problem with my x-85. I have to press the button on slight an angle to get it to work, and sometimes it even gets stuck inside the unit, so that I have to pull hard to get it out. :( Send it back for a replacement anyway, it's better than taking the risk that it fails sometimes in the future. Nova will probably send you a great replacement, as they are great people. :)

Are those push buttons commonly available? If so, I would like to replace it coz mine gets stuck inside the case all the time now.

Yeah, I just called them and they told me it was a common problem and that it definitely qualifies as a replacement and they would be sending me an email for the package to send it back. I am still disappointed but its not as bad now that I can get it to still work and they said it wouldn't be a problem. I wonder what type of shipping I should send it back as.

POP QUIZ.

What are you going to add to your collection?

P.S., my x-75 should arrive tomorrow, I hope it doesn't have the same problem, and if it does, then I'll just have to fix it myself. ;D

Kenom has em. 5$ ship included, Nova has em 5$+5$Shipping.

- I am in need of the actualy rubber gray transparent sillicon switch that goes on top of the white one, i don't want to use a screwdriver to power my laser..
