Hello LPF! I recently just joined this site for the reason that it seems a good/reliable place for inquiries regarding laser info. Just a quick background, I started looking at laser pointers as an alternative for using a finderscope for my telescope. From there, i came across with different colors and power capabilities of lasers. I already owned a couple of lasers from amazon and one of them was rated <100mW. With that laser, i experienced the beam visibility and burning capability which made me want to purchase a more higher powered one. I'm still learning more about the nature of laser beams and the most important thing i learned is safety. I recently purchased 2 laser safety glasses from amazon, one for me and one for my step daughter since everytime i use my laser pointer she wants to get involved.

I've been looking around the forums on where i can purchase a laser from a reliable site. I decided to go with Lazerer.com since it has been, so far, backed up by members and some cases had dealings with them. My wife gave me the go-ahead to purchase one. So far there are 2 lasers i've been considering purchasing.

Cyber 445nm - 1W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer

LZSK - Stick 445nm 1W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer

Any input(s) are appreciated. Thanks

I have the Lazerer Rifle 1.5W - http://lazerer.com/rifle_445nm_1.5w_focusable_blue_laser_pointer

My first laser above 5mw and I am very impressed with it, and so is everyone I show it to. My laser is overspec at 1615mW. You would love the purchase of a 1+ watt laser. Lazerer is most definitely a good choice.

Using it as a finderscope would be nice, but I think you'll be more attracted to the laser than any stars you point out with it :D

You may also want to give consideration to purchasing a laser built by a member of LPF; when I decide to get a new laser, I will be getting it from an LPF member who builds their own - they are powerful, durable, cheap in cost, and of course they are always here to help out. The man to talk to in this regard is Blord.

Welcome to LPF!

Great job on considering safety first. Not a lot of newbies here do that.

As far as those two go, they are basically the same. Only difference is the host/body.

For the price of $120, I strongly suggest buying from a member here. Lazerer is a reputable company but no one know for sure if you will get an onspec laser.

Buying one from a trusted member here will guarantee that you will have an onspec and a quality laser.

You can get a decent ~1W+ 445nm laser for $120 here. Head to the Buy-Sell-Trade section.

Thanks for the replies. I end up getting LZSK - Stick 445nm 1W Focusable Blue Laser Pointer used EMS shipping cause I just cant wait that long for normal airmail shipping :D. I only got the laser by itself since i already ordered the batteries, charger and googles from amazon. Thanks to another post regarding of getting a discount by liking the site on facebook which did help a bit.

I have been checking the B/S/T section and i'll mostly likely consider buying from a trusted member for my next laser in the future. It seems i need like 20+ post before i can inquire on purchasing a laser so it might be a while before i can post there since i dont post much. Is it possible to post a reply on a thread if i'm interested or is it part of the 20+ post requirement?

I do not believe there is a post requirement for purchasing; only selling. Feel free to post on a thread and inquire - I bought my Rifle from an LPF member when I had around 15 posts.

Good luck!
