I posted this on LC too =]

Ok so I wanted an Aries for a long time now
but since DL was so much cheaper and I have 10% off, I figured I'd roll the dice

Using Pseudo's calculator
the divergeance is approximately 1.31mRad
the beam diameter is approximately 1.00mm

Which means the divergeance is a bit off specs but the diameter is a lot better than advertised. *ill double check these specs over longer distances when im not so busy*

Unfortunately, I do not own a laser meter... yet. So I cannot test its output. However, I have been chatting with their admin and sales team, and they claim that the Hulk they sent to me averages 230mW over a 5 minute period.

As you can see from the first 3 pics I took. The Hulk series from DL is slightly different from the Aries series from Laserglow. One it doesnt have the wire coming out of the back of it. Also, it doesn't have the key safety feature.

Personally I kinda wanted the key feature, just because its so cool to say I need a key to turn on my laser hehe. But this is good too, a lot sleeker and easier to handle without the key sticking out of it the whole time.

I have heard from Timelord that C batteries dont fit his Aries that well. 2x C sized batteries fit perfectly in this one. Guess I gotta get those rechargeables off eBay afterall =]

Overall very satisfied with the laser. Very solid. No rattling or loose pieces even with the batteries in. The beam in daylight REALLY impressed me. I can't wait to see this thing outside at night.

The forth pic up there was with no exposure. Too bad my camera doesn't really capture what I see in real life.

Good looking module. I think DL is a sleeping tiger waking up to the new market. Pocket lasers with aaa cells are a flash in the pan for a quick show. They are getting into the power.

Someday, someone will make one with those Lithium poly cells which will ROCK !!!
