So I still haven't made my decision about which laser to go for :p

After deal extreme said products could take up to a month to arrive and took no responsibilities once it left them (customs charges, confiscations, etc) I lost confidence.

megalaseruk.com are (obviously) based in the UK and send another laser if it doesn't reach your door. I'm looking at the 50mW one as the others would be too powerful.

Any experiences of them or their 50mW laser?

Thanks.

I'm currently waiting on a pair of DX packages from 2 weeks ago, but that's part and parcel of ordering from them. I'm personally happy with a DX "100mW" Pot-Modded laser (around 40-90mW depending on the day and whether or not I dropped it recently). If you're happy to pay extra for the premium of buying with that guarantee, then go for it, if not I'd go with DX.

I've heard negative things about megalasersuk. I can't recall exactly what the problem was, but it wasn't positive.

The price is still really high, it would be worth taking the minimal risk and getting the True 50mW from DX, you could get nearly 4 for the price of one from the website you posted. If you still don't like DX, www.o-like.com tests and meters their lasers before shipment and are well liked among LPF, and there are no past shipping problems that I have heard of, plus they are still priced well.

I can say absolutely nothing negative about this site!

It's arrived :) I'll post pictures later but I ordered it just before 9pm BST on wednesday. I payed with my credit card and got no confirmation e-mail. I a bit worried but it arrived the next morning, well within the 24 hours it said it could take. "shipping" within uk is $10, and it actually did not confirm the price at the end; all I know is it probably cost £39 + $10, so i'll have to look on my bank statement.

It arrived today (2 nights) and it said "first classed signed for", though I didn't have to sign. Perhaps this is because it fit through my letter box. Im a newbie to lasers but I noticed the following things:
-On the laser it actually says "<50mW" and I don't have a tester to know how powerful it actually is, but it's powerful enough!
-In a brightly lit room in doors, the dot is extremely bright. The dot, at about 2-3m is about 1.5cm in width (estimate)
-The beam can be seen (again in a brightly lit room) faintly but clearly. Certain parts are more visible due to the dust.
-The dot when shone on a nearby tree made a crow fly out :)

Glad to hear you had you good ordering experiance. I was considering ordering a laser from megelaseruk, but i had read somewhere that they were scammers...glad to hear that this is not the case. it would be interesting to see what the power output is. Just out of interest what colour laser did you go for?

The classic green :)

It's clearly not 50 (<50 on label) and it doesn't mention IR filters, so it could be 30-49.9. I don't know how bright the beam should be but i'm hoping i'll be able to clearly see it tonight into the sky.

I orderd a 125mW Green Laser pointer (Pen type) from Megalaseruk.com on 3/9/10 (Monday)and it arrived on 5/9/10 (Wednesday). As mentioned above 2 bad point's.No confirmation e-mail straight away(got it next day) no total payable amount either.

I spoke to a chap from Megalaseruk on the phone before placing my order to ask about a warranty and if it came with a ir filter. He told me it had a 1 year warranty and ir filter fitted.

Overall veiw of this laser is very good,it came in a executive type case with batteries and wrapped in 2 jiffy bags enveloped.

First impressions....WOW!!!
After my first 5wm red laser this GREENY blew it away(ok im a noob) visable beam in a lit room was really bright.Night time came and it got better, the beam went to the heaven's and hit every tree top that i could see.

As you can see i'm really pleased,I do some star gazing and this will come into it's own knowing i can point to a star and let friend's know what i'm looking at now.

Laser cost £59+£6 UK Shipping,
Lable has <150mW and 532nm,
just thought i'd mention that as it's only 125mW, i know < = less than.I just wondered why they didnt lable it <125? any idea's guy's?

Specification:
Range: 50 miles
Continuous output power: 125mW class 3B
Power: 2 X AAA 1.5v batteries (included)
Dimensions: 13 X 143mm
Battery duration: 3 hours
Laser life: Up to 10000 hours
Wave length: 532nm
Weight: 65gm

This is my first post, hope it helps and i have no problems with ordering from Megalaseruk again.:thanks:

Welcome to the forums!

In the future, it's generally frowned upon to bump super ancient posts with info that's not really on topic.
Your review warrants its own post. It would have been much better if you created a new thread in the reviews section rather than tag your review onto the end of a discussion that ended a year ago.

Nice review, wrong place for it though.

Welcome to the community, be sure to say hi over at the welcome forum. Enjoy your stay!

it is somewhat suspicious that both users above (Aqueo and Welskie) use the same email service, and both have an underscore between two words in their email address. no other users on the entier forum appear to have this email service.

users both in same geo area

this is very likely spam for the company above

Oh dear,
My first post didnt go down to well :(

All i really wanted to do on this topic was reassure people of my expirence with the above mentiond company,I thought i was in the right topic? Looking back i should of put the reveiw in reviews section, "i do apologise for this".

As for my e-mail addy, I am in no way associated with the above company and would not or never spam trade for anyone.
All i wanted to do was tell of a service that i found to be (in my opinion) trusted, as i would with any company i bought from in the future.

I will endeavour to post on the right topic in future.I'm still getting use to such a big and very well put together Forum, nice work.
