many new products at CNI

There's a load of new lasers with different wavelengths at CNI. I've never seen so many types of DPSS lasers before! (This is the first time I've ever heard of a 1,112 nm or a 914 nm laser. ;D) Does anyone know anything about these lasers? For example, how much does a 515 nm DPSS laser cost?

It seems that CNI also sells more powerful handheld lasers now. For example, CNI is selling a "PGL-III-C-532/500" portable laser that has an average output of 500 mW. I don't think I've seen this product on the CNI website before.

The only thing I don't like about these portable lasers is that the safety label is placed on the heatsink. Since the label is placed on a ridged surface, it would be pretty easy to rip it off by accident, especially if the laser catches onto your clothing. (If you're concerned, you could probably remove the label carefully and place it somewhere else, such as below the button. Does anyone know if simply moving the label will void the warranty?)

No - moving the safety label (aperture label, I assume ?) will not void the warranty. If you ask them - I am sure they would be happy to move the sticker for you :) Or perhaps provide you with a spare sticker, like WL and DL used to do !

Shame that there arent prices. Maybe its one of those "If you need to ask then you mostly cant afford" scenarios.

I don't think CNI sells lasers individually unless you buy them in bulk. From what I've heard, that is the reason CNI doesn't list any prices.

yeah if those wavelengths were cheaper to produce than the standard 532/473nm DPSS lasers then those are the wavelengths you'd be seeing at places like DX, they're likely to be more expensive than blue (even when buying in bulk)

Lawl, who would pay the extra money for a DPSS 660nm laser with a 100mW output?

515 is greener than 532. Side by side, the 532 looks lime-green.

DPSS 660? I know DPSS 671nm, but yeah it would be kinda useless at 100mW since you could just use a single-mode collimated diode. If you're looking for upwards of 200mW red though, its expensive but using a 671nm DPSS is the right way to do it - especially for an RGB projector. Past 200mW or so you only get multi-mode diode reds. If you're making an RGB, it would be pretty sucky to have to work with a red beam that is 5 times thicker AND 5 times more divergence than your more expensive green and blue components. Using 671nm DPSS you can get the native specs of your RGB components pretty dang close to each other

It seems that 660 nm DPSS lasers are rather uncommon, though. I was asking about them some time ago, and several people told me that they didn't exist. ;D

They're actually not that rare, but you wouldn't hear about them amongst our hobbyist community. You know how we love to deal absolutely bottom dollar with no thought of quality. None of us are the type that would ever splurge on a 671nm DPSS, whereas a professional lasershow company would operate the other way.

$1200 ? For 500mW greenie, sounds like a nice deal.

But can you order individually or only in bulk for a reseller.
