Sorry if this has been asked before...
I Just joined the forum after reading a post about TechLasers scamming customers with cheap knockoffs and DragonLasers selling under spec lasers. I was considering buying from TL but now im not so sure I want to risk being ripped off. I have seen a couple posts in the LaserCommunity forum about the Infiniti 95mW model and it seemed to be of good quality so I'm not sure. Also I know most 125mW models from any seller are sometimes underpowered... and wonder if (I read a bad review about DL's Viper 125 being at ~105mW) it is simply just the 125mW models or all the lasers they sell that are underpowered. I want to buy a ~95mW laser and now I am no longer sure if there is any honest laser seller out there. The only laser I have purchased was a Galileo 3 from Laserglow. I would purchase a high powered laser from them because of good customer service and an excellent product (that I modified to output ~50mW (I was amazed a ~4mW could do that) with no problems... until I used it in the 105 degree sun...) but I want something pen-sized.

So, I would like to know if NOVA lasers sells quality, in spec lasers or if there is any company that does, for a reasonable price.

if you're looking for 95mW pen lasers
i think novalasers, dragonlasers or even starphasers are fine
techlasers is probably fine too, unless they sell knockoffs of the CNI pens, which nobody are sure of yet.

its just that 125mW from a pen sized laser is super rare
95mW is pretty common, so there is no need to scam customers

I think I will end up going for NOVA... a lot of the X105 models seem to average at ~110mW and peak at... better. And it makes sense that the 125 models don't work... it seems a little harsh to judge a company based on a product that never is in spec no matter where you go. Are there any reviews for the X105?

Senkat reviewed the X-85, and IIRC he said it acctually peaks @ 115mw. It seems like somewhere it was said that Nova fudged their ratings --- you acctually get MORE laser than you pay for!!!

If you want a cheep source og green laser, though, Dealextreme has them for rock-bottom prices.

That's amazing... NOVA it is. And does anyone know if the Infiniti series from TL is fake?

AFAIK nobody here has bought from them, but considering the prices and the fact that certain venders have exclusive rights to certain alsers, it's a fair bet it's fake. This is pure speculation, though.

I wouldn't go with Techlasers, but I know for a fact Nova is great. My X105 averages just over 113mW, pretty good for a little over $200. Nova has earned a great reputation here so I would go with them if you want a good company.
