Jetlasers is a good company?

Jetlasers is a young team founded in recent years and comprised of a group of young engineers graduated from the universities and labs in shandong provinces(north China), and they're also partnering with cni and scitower in some ways. Anyway, they're a much younger team but their portable lasers are known with more features than the cni. The fame of jetlasers rises a lot since 2008, esp. in mainland, China.

PS: Feel free to reading my review of one of them portable red lasers at Portable Red Laser 300mw - Jetlasers Review.

And WretchedMerc 's Review of Jetlasers 150mW Portable Green Laser at http://laserpointerforums.com/f52/jetlasers-150mw-portable-green-laser-50105.html. But he didnot test the power rating. :yh:

How do you order from jetlasers?

Wire transfer might be ok. I asked for the sampling when i was in Taiwan and they sent me the bank info. My wife helped me do the trsf thru my bank. Everything went smooth.

BTW, it might be easier to order from their distributors' shops if there is any. Freaklasers.com is a claimed jetlasers distributor.

Good luck.:)

The Cni is founded in around 1996, sponsored by CUST, the changchun university of science and technology, cni is a half-state owned enterprises and it only becames Top 1 manufacturer in around the year 2002, 2003, coz the Chinese goverment began to invest millions of RMB every year to support CNI to develop a widest variety of lasers, and that's why it develops much faster than Scitower(another top laser manufacturer in China, sponsored by Northwest University, which has top laser facilities and research center. )

But cni didnot become the top 1 until 2002, it's not the competitive laser manufacturer in China. The predecessor & partner of Scitower, the named Fengyuan Laser inc.(dissolved already) in Zhejiang province and the below-mentioned Photop Technologies, Inc. , has a much bigger marketshare among the universities and labs.

Their portables are similar to that of CNI but sells at better pricing. Most laser hobbyists in China have a special affection for Jetlasers.

Viacho(located in Peking) included, all main top laser manufacturers are located in northern China. While laser sellers in southern China, esp, in Guangzhou, Zhejiang province are well known for making cheap duplicates, using the ld and crystals cheaply made in their workshop or somewhere. Copyright is ‘copy is right' in China, so nothing has changed though cni sued them a couple of times. O-like and rayfoss are just two famous examples of reselling these cheap copies or duplicates and you can find a lot of similar resellers online. Cni wanna monopolize the high-end laser market and tried to have them banned but duplicates stuff are everywhere in China and thanks to it, we have some more options.

There seems to be only one most famous laser manufacturer in Fujian province(southern China), named GaoYi( Photop Technologies, Inc. ), which has >4500 members, mostly engineers, in the factory and has achieved >50 patents in laser tech. And it's reported that it has been partnering with US army for years, and it's heard that this manufacturer contributes a lot to the development of military laser weapons in US these years. This manufacturer is much more competitive than cni in a wide variety of aspects.

Thanks very much
Very helpful

You're welcome. After all, lasers are not mere toys unless we insist, and since it's a product to sell, the quality and reliability must be valued. Very few manufacturers in China could or insist making high end products for reasons such as facilities, tech, marketing concept, etc.

For example, the 5mw 532nm laser sights made for US armies by Photop Technologies, Inc costs >300USD/PC, but we can also find a 10 usd 5mw laser sight everywhere online. The fact is that simply the high thermal conductivity Epoxy that Photop(Gaoyi) adopted to make the laser sights costs 300USD/ounce. Poor epoxy only costs a few RMBs in China.

Haha...the pricing are easy to find on their distributors' websites though i dont know which has the most distributor-preferred price.:)
