Kind of the same process here. :)

(My two main problems with internet shopping is the customs limit of app. $14, and being at work/sea for 4 weeks at a time with no one to handle the mail.)

Ahem... *cough* I was so proud, The Green Monster had just hit 80 mW...then instaaled a new IR filter on it, tested....and only got 50 mW out of it.
SO that settles it!

Try look at the bright side, it is not too bad for the price and the host is likely reusable for stronger modules. :)

i still remember the day getting a CNI 165mW constant output laser .. compared to the 30-50mW i was used to playing with.

WOW

now im playing with 400+ mW 532

I can only imagine! In fact I've done some comparrisons with my 220 mW red in the dark from the end of my driveway back to the house (120 paces) - the red is super cool but the Green is awesome.

The test was safe, since I live in the woods in a sparcely populated community - 200yds from nearest neighbor through trees - with no street lights, it was about 11pm. Kids were alseep and I told the wife to stay inside away from the laser.

I don't think I would even attempt to shine anything brighter than 50 mW outside late at night in my area. Pretty sure...it was very nearly too bright. I suppose it would repell an attacker...

every time i use my high powered greenies outside i marvel at them, i would say at 400mW it would be bright enough to repel an attacker :p

I see a 200mw green that I'd like to get - it's $93.

Edit: and there is a guy in New York who has a module "over 150mw" for $89.95.... it could theoretically be here by Saturday if I ordered now! The one from Chine might take 3-4 weeks! ugh...there's a laser see saw in my brain....

Link to the NY module:
Here
I am trying to find a true 200mw module of any form factor for less than $60.

Is this possible? I mean, is this likely?

No.
The NY seller could very well be legit.

The module is not that uncommon, but the bidding will likely end up at $800-1200.

Toke that laser he posted on eBay does not come with a psu as stated in the auction. Just thought I'd let you and everyone else know who might want to bid.

Good observation, thanks.
Brand New DHOM 1000mw 532nm Analog Green Laser module | eBay
The subtitle here refers to the picture, not to what is for sale.
Analog laser with power supply producing 1.8watts

It is rather misleading to include the specs. from the manufacturer, the ones with description of the power supply. :(

Now where did the previous ebay link to it go?
Cad602 appears to have edited his post before I commented on the ebay listing?
What is going on here?

ETA: it is not possible to contact seller. A bit of a problem if one wants to know about what current to use for diode and tec's.

Ack! I edited the post to also talk about the Olike laser and somehow I must have selected the text then started writting!

my apologies, re editing now...

Edit: I meant to ask, what does the seller mean by "analog" laser? How is it different from solid state?

I own an old HeNe tube Laser, is that analog?

Again, sorry about ruining that post..

I believe it refers to analog modulation.
0-5V on a modulation input will give 0-100% output.

But that input channel would be on the powersupply that he is not including.
