hey guys, I just recently bought a 5mw pen from laserglow, and I love it so much! Although, I want another for burning.
I looked around a bunch and was wondering if this is a good laser from rayfoss:
www.rayfoss.com
I'm looking for somethng in the price range of like $80 maybe...max
Thanks.

For $50.00 it looks ok.
However I have never dealt with that company.
If I were you, I would save some more money and buy a laser that is built buy one of the many trusted guys here of LPF.
Check out the buy, sell, trade section of the forum.

If you do decide to buy that laser, be sure to write a review on it in the review section. That will help out others thinking of buying from that company.
Hope you enjoy your time here at LPF.

the first laser i bought was a 200mw red from rayfoss. they shipped promptly and it is a well made laser. it lpm'd at 150mw. if you don't want to roll your own (it would cost ~$40, but would be 250mw+) go for it.

How about this one it's $85 and 200mW, also it is guaranteed to be on or over spec. Whereas rayfoss may be on spec or underspec it's just a roll of the dice.

It comes with a battery and charger so looks like a pretty good deal, if you ask me.

Even if that is a little underspec it should still be more than capable of providing plenty of burning power.

If you don't want to/can't build your own, I'd say go for it!

For 80 bucks you may try Lazerer
....or save up a bit(about few months) to get the best. You may also search the Buy Sell and Trade section for best buy or from there you may see who can built your desired unit.

Will not really recommend Rayfoss.

Just my 2 cents advice.

You hardly need to save up for a few months to get "The best" quality 250mW Red laser... It costs just under $60 for all the parts to build a 300mW Red laser... Assuming you can solder well, You've got a laser. Which would be much better quality then something wholesaled from China..
