I just read the whole thing and it seems like an excellent review! He hit the nail right on the head from what i've galthered from reading the threads on DL's.

IMO, Turbogadgets' reviews are a tad flowery for my tastes....It seems every laser that is reviewed is the best. There is no comparison to other lasers of the same power level, and I did not see any mention of CNI in the review - unless I missed it. It was a good review, and would entice the average consumer to purchase one, I am sure - but I am not an average consumer, and neither are a lot of the members of this forum. Nothing against either DL, or Turbogadgets, but if I were to rate the review - 3 out of 5 stars. Just my opinion ! I have not owned a DL - I have operated one, and was suitably impressed by its' capabilities (DL-125) but never owned one (yet).

wow senkat, the reason theysay the lasers they get are good is probably becuz the companies send them perfectly working models becuz they want the best possible outcome from the review. can u show me a laser review which will have a better number of stars then any of the turbogadgets ones?

Actually, take a look through the reviews section, and you will see some pretty good ones. I did not post that to upset anyone, honest - I was only posting my opinion ! The kind of reviews that I personally like to see are the ones that go heavily into the tech end of it, and give some comparisons between other companies' products. Like I stated, it's a good review for the average consumer - but most of us on here are not average consumers !

Wow. It's only 259$??? Compared to other lasers this one seems like a good buy...Isn't 125mW green like 400$?

Consumers need to take online reviews with a grain of salt, the best way to get the performance information is by word of mouth from real owners and their experiences.
There are two main faults with online reviews.

One is that they get the product they're testing directly from the manufacturer. That means the unit sent for review is "cherry picked" from the best available and may very well not be representative of the typical product they would be getting if they just bought it themselves and not revealed that they were using it for a review.

The other problem, is that about 98% of review sites, want a "free sample" sent to them for they're review and for them to keep as well in exchange for publishing a great review.

I know as I get 2 or 3 emails every week from one site or another that does reviews of some sort and have an itch for a high powered laser in exchange for their 4 or 5 star review.
I let them know, I don't play the payola game. I do tell them that I can loan them on for their review provided they put down a deposit on the product if I'm not familiar with their website. After they get this message, they go away.

I'm not saying the review mentioned here is like that as I've not even read it, but most online review sites do work this way; especially if they don't back up their opinion/review with real actual data showing why and how they came to their final rating.
