IE doesn't work for me now. > I get the warning on the pages that actually do work. Apparently, pictures of flashlights are "insecure".

I purchased their 5mW True Green Laser a few weeks ago, and based on videos and pictures I have seen on the internet, I have reason to believe that it puts out more than that.

I don't have any kind of measuring equipment with me, so I can't really tell for sure. But the pointer can burn through garbage bags easily (haven't tried balloons yet). The beam is also visible in dim light. I'm quite concerned about the IR radiation given off.

Have you tried measuring the ma consumption with a DMM? If it draws anything over 250ma, it would indicate that itis pumping a beefy 808 diode at full current. So the IR could be at a hazardous level. If it was tuned down to only put out 5mW or less, it should only be consuming 75ma or so. Other than that , its been sold as a 5mW that didnt make the 30mW bucket like its brothers and sisters Most commonly the 5mW modules are anywhere between 5mW up to 20+mW depending on the luck of the draw. The 5mW newish modules do have a small IR filter, but dont tend to remove much of the IR, and are used as a partial reflector to feed some light to the APC feedback.

Nova has nice filters for 8 or 10$ cant remember..

I can connect off and on. Looks like their server is having some issues with stable connectivity. Usually only half of the content gets loaded.

Sometimes I can't connect to dealextreme and when I can it loads the list on the left all wrong (plain and uncondensed) and the content is below all of the listing. I'm using opera btw.
Maybe they're making changes to the site?

the 4mw greenie might be nicer for a toy compared to my 5mw cr2 "new wish"

said 5mw laser with a used rechargable battery uses 270mw of power (measured through battery while in it, i just removed tail cap, ect)
if what you say is true, i feel like i got a deal haha
when i take the unit out of it and power it with the cheap battery it came with, via wires and tape, it does warm up kinda fast.

i think they are doing something security wise...
when it did work briefly yesterday, i noticed it show some text at the top of a blank page, saying something about security blah blah, and a half second later it loaded the normal dx homepage.... never seen that before

I don't even have a multimeter with me right now, but as soon as I get access to one, I'm going to test it out. I was burning through electrical tape easily last night.
