Shipping was as expected, took a while. Things bogged down at their port, but once released, as Adam said, it was here in days. Much happier with this unit.
Old one was around 35mw no matter what. Almost hit 50 once, but never over, day or night
Hot here today. Sailed way past 80mw. Warmed up. Not so good. Let head cool down, OK by air conditioner vent.:) Put it on the LPM, was seeing 90's
I'm a happy customer. Thanks Adam
Anybody ever wrap a cool towel around one?

Very interesting, I remember hearing of a couple circumstances where people got an underspec unit and they were basically SOL. Good to hear things seem to have improved. Once I get da monies I'll likely get one :)

Be careful of rapid temperature changes as it might cause condensation build up behind the lenses and then you probably will have to take it apart to remove the condensation.

yes. I'd recommend the same (no moisture), and you shouldn't run it until the host is getting warm. they get hot fast and are not sinked well, so if it gets hot then that means the module is WAY over temp. let it cool slowly with air only. and only run it for about a minute at most, and then let it cool for a few minutes before turning it back on, they're really what they look like....a big laser pointer. the diodes in these are under a lot of stress.

Thanks for your tips. I cooled it very slowly, no moisture. I'd feel terrible messing up this good one.
You're right, they heat up quick. I keep it to about 30 sec.

I really glad to see Adam is taking care of customers with under spec 589's. I was kind of surprised. Maybe the amount of people posting their negative experiences regarding this made him realize he needed to do better. Good for him.
Glad you got a new in spec yellow. I love my Spartan.

Edit: Let it outside in the cold for about 5min and got a peak of 55mW! It tend dropped to around 45mW and started climbing back up, so an average of around 49mW's. Not bad :) Mine seems to be working fine then at a temp of 60 Degrees :D

Never tried mine at a cooler temp. Maybe I'll place it in the garage tonight and then test it out there in the morning.
